The epic Pogues’ adventures will return to Netflix sooner than you think! Here is everything we know so far about Outer Banks Season 4.
After the prior season’s success, the series was officially greenlit for a fourth season by getting an early renewal ahead of its third season’s premiere on February 23, 2023. The announcement was made at Poguelandia with the beloved cast Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Rudy Pankow, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, and Carlacia Grant, who took to the stage with Drew Starkey and Austin North at Poguelandia in Huntington Beach to drop the exclusive news to the fandom!
As the epic Outer Banks experience with thousands of fans was being hosted, Chase Stokes took a moment to thank the fans for sticking with John B, the Pogues, and even the Kooks for three and a half years. “This is an incredible moment for all of us,” he said. “To our cast and crew, thank you so much for all of your hard work.”
Additionally, Co-creators, showrunners, and executive producers Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke at the Saturday celebration also gave fans an idea of what to expect in Outer Banks season 4, “Seeing Poguelandia come to life was nothing short of spectacular. The Pogues are enjoying an adventure of a lifetime, and we now get to map out more twists and turns as the joyride continues into season four of Outer Banks. Thank you to Netflix, our cast, and the amazing fans who helped to make this happen.”
If you’ve been keeping up with the latest developments, you’ll be relieved to know that the fourth season is assumed to premiere sometime in 2024. Though, the exact release date has yet to be determined because the season’s production has not yet begun. It takes some time to verify the crucial details as no statement regarding this topic has been provided by the show’s creators.
If we must speculate, the release window could be in February 2024 with each new episode airing on the same day at 2:00 a.m. (PT) or 3:00 a.m. (ET) as the other original series and movies which are available on the streaming platform. We would like to highlight that this is just our guess, and we would advise fans to wait for Netflix to confirm these details in the coming months.
In order to receive updates on when the show premieres on Netflix, interested viewers can also enable notifications. On the other hand, the official Twitter handle also confirmed that the show will be returning for a fourth season with a new picture of the cast from the Poguelandia event held last weekend, quoting, “RENEWED FOR SEASON 4, BABY! #OBX4” Take a look at the official post below:

In the meantime, we suggest that viewers binge-watch the newly released Outer Banks Season 3 on Netflix. This long-awaited season showcases, “New adventures take the Pogues to the Caribbean and far beyond as the friends are pulled into a dangerous rival’s hunt for a legendary lost city.”
As, the third season picks up with the Pogues as they’re washed ashore on a desert island that, for a brief moment, seems like an idyllic home, after they’ve found (and lost) a golden treasure and fled their hometown. Officially deemed “Poguelandia,” the island’s newest residents spend their days fishing, swimming, and reveling in the carefree lifestyle of their temporary dwelling.
But things quickly go south for John B, Sarah, Kiara, Pope, JJ, and Cleo when they find themselves once again caught up in a race for the treasure, quite literally running for their lives. They’re broke and far from home, they can’t trust anyone, Ward and Rafe are hungry for revenge, and there’s a ruthless Caribbean Don who will stop at nothing to find the bounty.
Was the treasure ever within their reach? Or was it all a trap to stop them once and for all? Either way, it’s the Pogues against the world – and the only way out is together. However, Outer Banks executive producers and creators Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke tell Tudum that with the stakes higher than ever before this season, they hope fans really feel the resilience of the Pogues’ companionship in Season 3.
“There’s all this action and adventure, but it’s really about the bond between the friends,” Burke says. But most importantly, Josh Pate wants all the wannabe Pogues watching at home to feel “the sense that there’s more coming.” And with this Season 4 announcement, we are sure that this is just a glimpse into what the future holds!
