When is Outlander Season 7 releasing on Starz?
Unfortunately, the release date of Outlander Season 7 is currently unknown, but that is probably because the seventh season is still in its production stage, which will take time to complete in a proper manner and deliver the best content for the fans. The new season is being filmed in Scotland, which doubles for North Carolina.
In addition, Outlander Season 7 will have 16 episodes to make up for Season 6’s eight-episode cut owing to COVID-19 and Balfe’s pregnancy. Moreover, Starz told Deadline that filming for the series is scheduled to end soon and that fans can expect an Outlander Season 7 release date either in late 2022 or early 2023.
According to Digital Spy, Maril Davis has shared a new update with fans about the progress being made on season seven. While speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, Davis stated that he wasn’t quite so certain about when the new season might hit our screens. “I actually don’t know!” she said when asked when we can expect to see the next season.
“I haven’t been told when we will be airing season seven, all I know is we are at the beginning of shooting it now, and that’s all I can say. Further adding, “I think we are on a fairly typical schedule but it is a supersized season.”
In the meantime, take a look at the official post, which shows a sneak peek from the set of Season 7 on the official Twitter handle of the show, quoting, “It wouldn’t be #WorldOutlanderDay without an #Outlander gift, now would it? Outlander Season 7: New Cast Members
The newest members of the cast who will be joining Outlander Season 7, are Joey Phillips (Denzell Hunter) & Izzy Meikle-Small (Rachel Hunter). The pair will play brother and sister in the series. Rachel and Denzell are Quakers whose quiet country life is changed when Young Ian arrives at their farm with a sick and injured William Ransom. “We’re excited to welcome Izzy and Joey to the Outlander family and can’t wait for fans to see how these two fantastic actors bring Rachel and Denzell to life,” Matthew B. Roberts, showrunner, writer, and executive producer, said in an exclusive statement to Deadline.
Moreover, Jamie Fraser’s (Sam Heughan) son William Ransom will be all grown up when Starz’s Outlander returns for Season 7, and he’ll be portrayed by Charles Vandervaart. Executive producer Maril Davis added, “The character of William Ransom is a wonderful role, and one fans have been eager to see. Finding someone with the talent and physicality to play Jamie’s son was a daunting task, but Charles’ charisma was evident during the audition process and we are excited to see what he will bring to William’s multi-layered journey.”
Outlander Season 7: Potential Spoilers
Not much information about the upcoming season has been revealed by any sources, but during Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, Caitriona Balfe highlights that it’s going to be “difficult” to film Outlander Season 7 according to the two scripts Balfe got in late 2021. She expressed her views stating, “At 3.30 this morning when I was feeding my son, I got an email with the first two scripts and I started reading the first episode, then my eyes were getting crossed so I’ll have to look at that another time!”
Further adding, “The first two eps are in my inbox so it’s exciting, we’re gearing up to get back on it. It’ll be a tough one, we’ll be shooting for a whole year. So, in the words of Dougal McKenzie, we’re going to gird our loins.” She also quipped about how Heughan will handle Season 7’s yearlong shoot. “Sam’ll probably be on his seventh almanac at that point. He’s an Energizer bunny… I’m like, ‘Where do you get your energy from, and please send some this way!'”

Outlander Season 6: A Quick Recap
In the last season, the viewers got to see that as political upheaval in the colonies erupted, the Frasers (Jamie, Claire, Brianna, and Roger) attempted to live peacefully on their remote property in North Carolina’s foothills. Jamie is unexpectedly forced to choose between his devotion to the oath he took to the British monarch and his dream of freedom in the New World. Trouble continues with the Browns, who organize a “safety committee” that threatens the peace on the ridge, splitting the local American Indians, the British, and the Frasers.
Meanwhile, the Christies come onto the Ridge, a throwback to Jamie’s time in Ardsmuir Prison, and begin to impact the Ridge’s harmony. Malva Christie, Tom Christie’s daughter, develops feelings for Claire, only to betray her by announcing her pregnancy with Jamie as the father. As Jamie and Claire’s grip over Fraser’s Ridge grows increasingly tenuous, the season concludes with a great deal of discontent between the Browns and the Christies.
