Paris Hilton is finally opening the lid on why she opted for surrogacy to bring her two children, Phoenix and London, into the world.

In a recent expansive interview with Romper, the 42-year-old mother-of-two opens up about her PTSD problems that stemmed from her teenage years when she was admitted to Utah’s Provo Canyon School for troubled youth. She told her outlet, “If I’m in a doctor’s office, I get a shot, anything, I will literally have a panic attack and I can’t breathe,” adding, “I just knew that would not be healthy for me or the baby, growing inside of someone who has such high anxiety.”

During her long stay at the correctional facility, Hilton revealed in 2020 that she had been gravely emotionally, sexually, and physically abused. When asked about the nature of the abuse, she revealed that one was where she was held down against her will for nonconsensual gynecological examinations. The school has previously said they “do not condone or promote any form of abuse.”

The school being spoken about reportedly has been taken over by another company, who have since commented that they cannot atone for the atrocities meted on students before the ownership change.

In an interview a while back, the socialite opened up about her thoughts on pregnancy with Glamour UK, where she said that “death” and “childbirth” were the “two things that scare [her] more than anything in the world.” She added at the time, “I’m just so scared,” continuing, “Leading back to Provo of even being in a doctor’s office, just all of that, the shots, the IVs that they put in.”

Apart from the PTSD, Hilton also told Romper that her schedule would get too hectic with an active pregnancy, adding that her days are often planned a year in advance. She said, “My schedule is out of control,” adding, “There never would’ve been the right time to do it because there’s literally no time to do anything in my life.”

Cementing her “hectic schedule” statement, it is safe to say that Hilton is currently wearing several business hats at once. According to Page Six, the socialite is currently the face of Hilton Hotels, the founder of 11:11 media company, the host of the “I am Paris” podcast, the star of Peacock’s “Paris in Love,” the owner of a kitchenware line, a DJ and also an aspiring pop star with her eye set on releasing new music next year.

While no maternity leave was in the books for the star, she admitted to slowing down a little since the arrival of baby girl London. Despite the long and difficult road to motherhood for Hilton, she feels like her “life is finally complete.” She further opens up that while having two children is the perfect number, she is open to having one more.

She recalled to the outlet, “I used to look at my friends who’d be like, ‘Oh, I have to go home to my kids and my husband,’ like, ‘You’re so lame. This is so fun. I can’t imagine being like that,’” adding, “Now I’m one of those boring people, and I couldn’t be happier. I couldn’t imagine it any other way.”
