Perry Mason Season 2: When will the new season premiere?

Unfortunately, the new season will not be premiering on the network until February 2023, so the viewers will have to wait a little longer, which is just another month because Perry Mason Season 2 is definitely airing this year! As of now, the premiere date has been set for Monday, March 6, 2023. It is expected to release on HBO at the time slot of 9:00–10:00 p.m. ET/PT and later on HBO Max.

Additionally, in April 2021, it was announced that Jones and Fitzgerald had left the series and were replaced as showrunners by Jack Amiel and Michael Begler. Perry Mason is an American period drama television series created by Rolin Jones and Ron Fitzgerald for HBO. It is based on the character of the same name by Erle Stanley Gardner. “It has been an exciting journey to work with the immensely talented team behind Perry Mason,” said Francesca Orsi, Executive Vice President of HBO Programming. “Viewers have relished being transported back in time to 1930’s Los Angeles each week, and we are thrilled to welcome the show back for a second season.”

The official synopsis of the new season states, “Months after the end of the Dodson trial, Perry’s moved off the farm ditched the milk truck, he’s even traded his leather jacket for a pressed suit. It’s the worst year of the Depression, and Perry and Della have set the firm on a safer path pursuing civil cases instead of the tumultuous work that criminal cases entail. Unfortunately, there isn’t much work for Paul in wills and contracts, so he’s been out on his own. An open-and-closed case overtakes the city of Los Angeles, and Perry’s pursuit of justice reveals that not everything is always as it seems.”

The season is confirmed to have at least 8 episodes with a runtime of 56 to 64 minutes, which will be released on a weekly basis. We speculate that it is intended to follow the same framework as the prior seasons to be consistent, which will showcase the world’s most renowned fictional lawyer being back on the case in this exciting HBO series that tells the origin story of master criminal defense attorney Perry Mason. Set in 1932 Los Angeles, this edgy, noirish update puts a new spin on the iconic character, with Mason (Matthew Rhys) as a low-rent private investigator who digs into a controversial and politically loaded case.
