Phineas and Ferb Revival: What to expect in the new seasons?
There is currently no release date set for the new seasons, but keep checking back for updates. On the bright side, we know that the show follows the exploits of stepbrothers Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher as they look for summertime activities. They reside in the fictional city of Danville, which is located in an unidentified tri-state region. These adventures frequently entail expensive, enormous, and allegedly risky construction undertakings.
Candace Flynn, Phineas’ older sister, is obsessed with two things: finding out about the plans and ideas of Phineas and Ferb and getting Jeremy’s attention. Meanwhile, the boys’ pet platypus Perry acts as a secret agent for an all-animal government organization called the O.W.C.A. (“Organization Without a Cool Acronym”), fighting Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz.
“Dan is renowned for his ability to create universally beloved stories and characters with both heart and humor,” said Davis. “We couldn’t be happier to continue our collaboration with him and bring back the iconic ‘Phineas and Ferb’ in a big way.”
Further adding, “It has been the greatest pleasure of my career to see how an entire generation of kids and parents have embraced the characters and the humor of ‘Phineas and Ferb,'” Povenmire said. “I’m eagerly looking forward to diving back into the show for them and for a whole new generation.”
“Dan is a true mastermind, and his brilliant brand of storytelling has always been infused with a kind-spirited and optimistic sense of humor which continues to strike a perfect chord with audiences the world over,” said Meredith Roberts, executive vice president of animation at Disney Branded Television. “On behalf of everyone at Disney Television Animation, we’re so pleased to continue our association with Dan and his inspiring creative team – visionary producers, writers, animators, song composers, and directors who have entertained and connected with generations of viewers.”

The agreement calls for the production of 40 additional episodes for two seasons of the well-known animated series. Since Disney Branded Television presently produces shows across Disney Channel, Disney+, Disney Junior, and Disney XD, it is unclear where the episodes will air. Disney Branded Television President Ayo Davis made the announcement in conjunction with Povenmire during Friday’s Television Critics Association panel. Povenmire’s overall deal also includes a second season of his latest Disney Channel series, Hamster & Gretel.
“There are songs that we wrote in 2005 for this show that are trending on TikTok. That has been one of the best times in my career is the fact that this whole generation of kids and parents really took this show into their hearts, and it still means so much to them,” he said.
In addition, Povenmire has received 14 Emmy Award nominations in multiple categories, including Voiceover and Songwriting – he also wrote and co-wrote some 500 songs for Phineas and Ferb, Milo Murphy’s Law, and Hamster & Gretel.
According to Deadline, it hasn’t been confirmed whether the original voice cast will return for the revival, though many of them did return for Candace Against the Universe in 2020, including Ashley Tisdale as Candace Flynn; Vincent Martella as Phineas Flynn; Caroline Rhea as their mom, Linda; Dee Bradley Baker as Perry the Platypus; Alyson Stoner as Isabella; Maulik Pancholy as Baljeet; Bobby Gaylor as Buford; Olivia Olson as Vanessa Doofenshmirtz; Tyler Mann as Carl; and Povenmire and Marsh as Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz and Major Monogram, respectively. David Errigo Jr. joined the cast as Ferb Fletcher.
The animated series is created by Povenmire along with Jeff Marsh. The two previously collaborated on Rocko’s Modern Life on Nickelodeon and The Simpsons on Fox. Robert F. Hughes is the film’s producer, and Povenmire and Marsh are its executive producers. The film has received numerous nominations and was the winner of Daytime Emmys last year in the categories of Outstanding Writing Team for a Daytime Animated Program and Outstanding Original Song for a Preschool, Children’s, or Animated Program.
