British monarch Queen Elizabeth II left for her heavenly abode on September 8, 2022. The news of her demise was confirmed by the British Royal family in an official statement. Talking about the 96-year-old Monarch, she breathed her last at the Balmoral Castle situated in Scotland. Members of the royal family reportedly rushed to the Queen’s side on Thursday after it was suggested by the doctors who were concerned about her health. Talking about Prince Harry, he also arrived in Scotland.

The Duke and the Duchess of Sussex’s tribute

The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, did not accompany Prince Harry to Balmoral. However, both the Duke and the Duchess paid their solemn tribute to the late Queen via their Archewell foundation. The ex-royal couple has changed their site’s wall and landing page to an all-black color. Moreover, the website has been wiped off all information related to the foundation and any other upcoming events. What it all includes is a heartfelt message dedicated to the late Queen that reads, “In loving memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.” The late monarch’s birth and death years were also mentioned beneath the same.

The official announcement

Buckingham Palace announced the tragic news about Queen Elizabeth II’s sudden demise on Thursday afternoon. While taking to all the social media handles, the royal authorities wrote, “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.” The same statement also confirmed Prince Charles III’s new role as the king and wrote, “The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”

King Charles III’s message

Talking about Prince Charles, he is all set to become the oldest individual to assume the British crown following Queen Elizabeth II’s death. The 76-year-old monarch will deliver a televised address following the queen’s death on Friday. It will also mark his first-ever public speech as a king after taking over the throne. In the light of the late monarch’s passing, the respective titles for Prince William and Kate Middleton are changed to the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and Cambridge.
