Prince William and Kate Middleton receive their first official portrait from Jamie Coreth

Prince William and Kate Middleton continue to be on the news for one reason or the other. Recently, the royal couple got a newly painted official portrait of themselves from artist Jamie Coreth during their visit to Cambridgeshire. The Duke and the Duchess of Cambridge visited the famous Fitzwilliam Museum to witness the unveiling of what we know as their first-ever official portrait together. For the unversed, a picture of the portrait has also been released on their official Instagram handle.

About the portrait

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s portrait piece was commissioned in 2021 under the Cambridgeshire Royal Portrait Fund held by the Cambridge Community Foundation. Award-winning British artist Jamie Coreth has painted the portrait of the royal couple. The Duke and the Duchess of Cambridge are seen looking into a distance in the portrait. Moreover, the couple looked no less stunning in the painting which is sure to catch everyone’s attention. Talking about Kate Middleton, she is seen wearing a green lurex midi dress. For the unversed, she wore the same outfit when she was in Dublin in 2020. On the other hand, Prince William is seen wearing a royal suit.

The location

Talking about the royal couple’s portrait, it is going to be kept in the University of Cambridge’s Fitzwilliam Museum for around three years before making it available for public viewing. As published in the People, artist Jamie Coreth talked about working on the exotic piece and said, “It was the ‘most extraordinary privilege of my life to be chosen to paint this picture. I wanted to show Their Royal Highnesses in a manner where they appeared both relaxed and approachable, as well as elegant and dignified.”
