Is Paul Scheuring’s drama television series making a comeback? Here is everything we know so far about Prison Break Season 6.
Have you heard the rumors making the rounds on social media about the potential development of Prison Break season 6? If so, then we can assure you that you are not alone, as we can be certain that these reports have sparked speculation about the two adored brothers, Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield, making their return for another season.
As, they once embraced television sets across the globe and were last seen in 2017, which has made the loyal Prison Break fandom hopeful once again.
Unfortunately, we hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it is important to not add more fuel to this speedily spreading wildfire, and we are going to get straight to the point: Even though the fans are delighted to hear these ongoing reports, we can confirm to the readers that Prison Break Season 6 is not happening at Netflix.
These are just some random ramblings that were started when a picture of Michael and Lincoln’s combined faces with the text “Prison Break return” was shared on the Facebook page of an unofficial Netflix account called “Netflix News.” The users who came across the post just assumed it to be true, and started sharing it all over the platform, which led the fans to consider it the truth.
The fact that the post’s title reads, “Prison Break. Season 6. SOON,” doesn’t help, as the page is not even verified, which clearly indicates no such plans for a sixth season are in the works by Netflix. It’s not as if the show hadn’t been considering a sixth season for years. If you recall, back in January 2018, Fox confirmed that season 6 was in the early stages of development.
However, in August 2019, Fox announced that it had no current plans to resurrect Prison Break, and Miller confirmed in late 2020 that he had no plan to return to the series. Since then, there have been no details regarding the potential renewal of Prison Break Season 6. However, there is a possibility of the sixth season only if Paul Scheuring and the rest of the production team agree to return if it ever happens!
Prison Break Season 5: A Quick Recap
Seven years after his alleged demise, Michael Scofield reappears in Sana’a, Yemen’s infamous Ogygia Prison under the guise of Kaniel Outis. Two of Michael’s old friends, his brother Lincoln Burrows and fellow Fox River escapee Benjamin “C-Note” Franklin, risk their lives by going to Yemen to bring Michael home as the nation is engulfed in conflict. Agents of the Poseidon operative, who was responsible for Michael’s abduction, are looking for Michael’s wife Sara, who has since remarried.
The series is created by Paul Scheuring, and the main cast members include Wentworth Miller as Michael Scofield, Dominic Purcell as Lincoln Burrows, Sarah Wayne Callies as Sara Scofield, Paul Adelstein as Paul Kellerman, Rockmond Dunbar as Benjamin Miles “C-Note” Franklin, Robert Knepper as Theodore “T-Bag” Bagwell, Amaury Nolasco as Fernando Sucre, Mark Feuerstein as Jacob Anton Ness, Inbar Lavi as Sheba, and Augustus Prew as David “Whip” Martin.
The recurring cast includes Rick Yune as Ja, Marina Benedict as Emily Blake / A&W, Steve Mouzakis as Van Gogh, Amin El Gamal as Cyclops, Kunal Sharma as Sid, Numan Acar as Abu Ramal, Curtis Lum as Agent Henry Kishida, Crystal Balint as Heather, Waleed Zuaiter as Mohammad El-Tunis, TJ Ramini as Cross, Akin Gazi as Omar, Duncan Ollerenshaw as Blue Hawaii, Faran Tahir as Jamil, Leo Rano as Luca Abruzzi, Michael Benyaer as Zakat, Bobby Naderi as Mustapha, and Christian Michael Cooper as Mike Scofield.
In the final episode, “Behind the Eyes,” is directed by Nelson McCormick and written by Paul Scheuring. The viewers got to see that Van Gogh is revealed to be the one shot by A&W, having become skeptical of Michael’s involvement in Gaines’ murder. Van Gogh, mortally injured, tells Sara where Mike is. Michael gathers his allies, including Blue Hawaii, to overthrow Jacob as he attempts to brainwash Mike.
Luca’s capture by the FBI is made possible by a wounded Lincoln escaping the hospital. In order to reenact Gaines’ murder and demonstrate Jacob’s participation, Michael executes a plan in which he entices Jacob and A&W to a warehouse. Later, Whip is shot by A&W during the effort and dies before T-Bag kills her and captures her. Jacob’s participation is established by Michael, and the two are taken into custody.
At the same moment, Lincoln and Sara catch Theroux and save Mike. Michael is cleared, and his identity as Michael Scofield has been restored thanks to the proof that was sown by Theroux and Michael’s testimony. He declines an invitation to join the CIA and goes back to living normally with Sara and Mike. As asked by Michael, Jacob is sent to Fox River State Penitentiary, where he eventually shares a cell with T-Bag. T-Bag is encouraged by the other prisoners as he assaults Jacob.
