Fans expressed outrage as explicit AI-generated images of Taylor Swift went viral on X on Thursday morning. The hashtag “Protect Taylor Swift” soon began trending on social media following the circulation of several X-rated images from various NSFW websites.

The “deepfake” images reportedly depicted Swift in sexually provocative and offensive poses at a Kansas City Chiefs game. The offensive images of the “Enchanted” hitmaker, who is currently in a relationship with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, 34, originated on multiple AI sites earlier this month, according to Page Six.

User @Zvbear responded to the situation

User @Zvbear acknowledged the viral impact of their Taylor Swift post, stating, “My Taylor post went viral and now everyone is posting it,” as reported by Newsweek. Later, they added, “Bro what have I done… They might pass new laws because of my Taylor Swift post. If Netflix did a documentary about AI pics they’d put me in it as a villain. It’s never been so over.” In response to the situation, the user has adjusted their privacy settings, limiting visibility to only approved followers who can now view their tweets.

‘Protect Taylor Swift’

Fans flooded the social media app in support of the ‘Bad Blood’ singer. “People sharing the ai pics are sick and disgusting. protect taylor swift at all costs,” read a viral tweet. “Using ai generated pornography of someone is awful and inexcusable. you guys need to be put in jail,” another fan said.

A few fans countered the argument with a different perspective, suggesting that Swift couldn’t be vulnerable to the misuse of AI. One fan clarified, “‘Taylor swift is a billionaire she’ll be fine’ THAT DOESN’T MEAN U CAN GO AROUND POSTING SEXUAL AI PICS OF HER LIKE A FREAK SHE’S STILL HUMAN BEING WITH FEELINGS”

“I’m not a swifty, but the spread of Taylor Swift AI pictures should be stopped. She is a Human being with feelings no matter how rich she is it still hurts,” a netizen wrote. A third tweet read, “PROTECT TAYLOR SWIFT !!! she’s the sweetest person she is always grateful for her fans and does anything for them !! fr the sweetest person.”

While Swift has not made any official statements regarding the ongoing situation, however, as per an insider the artist is “furious”. The “Cruel Summer” singer is also reportedly considering legal action, according to the Daily Mail. The insider emphasized, “Whether or not legal action will be taken is being decided, but there is one thing that is clear: These fake, AI-generated images are abusive, offensive, exploitative and done without Taylor’s consent and/or knowledge.”

“The Twitter account that posted them does not exist anymore. It is shocking that the social media platform even let them be up to begin with,” the source added. The report further noted that Swift’s family and friends are also angered by the situation. The insider added, “Legislation needs to be passed to prevent this, and laws must be enacted.”
