Is Raised By Wolves Season 3 canceled by HBO Max? Continue reading to learn more.
Aaron Guzikowski’s Raised by Wolves is an American science fiction drama television series that premiered on HBO Max on September 3, 2020. After the Earth was destroyed by a catastrophic battle, two androids, Father and Mother, are tasked with raising human children on Kepler-22b.
As the increasing human colony is threatened by religious divisions, the androids discover that regulating human beliefs is a treacherous and tough endeavor. It’s a really unique epic show to watch, something that is so original, well-rounded, and full of suspense and drama.
Another remarkable addition to his collection of dystopian tales along with a lot of mythological references. When a series has the potential to deliver more and get better with each season, as shown by the critical acclaim for the prior two seasons, it is hotly debated whether it will be renewed or canceled after only one season.
Unfortunately, if you enjoyed the previous seasons, we have some bad news for you. The chance to binge-watch Raised By Wolves Season 3 was short since the HBO Network discontinued the show. Here’s what we know about the abrupt cancellation of the show.
Will there be a third season of Raised By Wolves?
Raised By Wolves Season 3 was canceled by the HBO network on June 3, 2022. A few weeks after the premiere of the final episode of the second season aired. As a result, the series has no chance of being renewed by the network, even if it had the potential to build a fanbase eager to see more seasons of these shows in order to see the characters develop and make the episodes better with each passing week, which intrigued viewers to at least tune into watching the episodes to see how the show creator will deal with these characters. It’s a pity that viewers who hoped the series would improve will no longer be able to see another chapter.
Why did HBO cancel Raised By Wolves Season 3?
According to Variety, HBO Max said in a statement on Friday, “While we are not proceeding with a third season of Raised by Wolves, we are beyond grateful to the stellar cast and crew, our creators Aaron Guzikowski, Ridley Scott, David W. Zucker, and the entire team at Scott Free Productions, for their beautiful artistry and unique ability to immerse fans into the world of Kepler-22b.”
As highlighted in the article itself that it’s also worth noting that the cancellation of Raised by Wolves comes at a time when WarnerMedia, HBO Max’s parent company, is through a lot of changes after being sold to AT&T and merging with Discovery to form Warner Bros. Discovery.
Moreover, in a series of tweets early Friday, Abubakar Salim, who portrays the Father, also hinted that Raised by Wolves was in jeopardy. Take a look at the tweets below:
Call to action #RenewRaisedByWolves
It’s not surprising, especially after the news of the mergers and what is happening at Warner, that a lot of shows are not having their stories finished.

Initially started in the Twitter thread, Call to action #RenewRaisedByWolves, it’s not surprising, especially after the news of the mergers and what is happening at Warner, that a lot of shows are not having their stories finished.” In just over a month of control, the new regime, led by Discovery CEO David Zaslav, has shattered many things, including the cancellation of CNN+ and the halting of new scripted series production at TNT and TBS.
Look at some fan’s reactions to the cancellation
Gah, OF COURSE a show as crazy, fascinating and downright different as #RaisedByWolves is threatened. #RenewRaisedByWolves ! https://t.co/VJrn6oOTIt

Can't believe @hbomax doesn't see the potential of Raised by Wolves despite 2 great and well received seasons.#RenewRaisedbyWolves 😤

#RenewRaisedByWolves for Earth's sake! I wasn't so invested in a Sci-fi show since Battlestar Galactica and Stargate Universe, and we all know what happened to the latter. Save Raised by Wolves. Save me. https://t.co/FePz71biH3

What could be the plot of Raised By Wolves Season 3?
As of June 6, 2022, Raised By Wolves Season 2 has aired all the 8 episodes of the series which concluded on March 17, 2022. The final episode of the series, Happiness, was directed by Lukas Ettlin and written by Aaron Guzikowski.
The official synopsis of the episode states, “Using Grandmother’s sensory filter to suppress her emotions, Mother goes to impossible lengths to protect Campion, but the fallout proves too painful to bear; Grandmother reveals her own agenda; Marcus seeks revenge.”
If the third season of the series was renewed the viewers would have gotten a chance to see that the story would have been picked up from this very moment and expanded upon to explore the character dynamics and subplots which could have been valuable for the viewers to tune into watching the series for a long run.
The series truly deserves to be revived, as its critical and viewer reception speaks for itself, and it would be a missed opportunity not to explore and invest more in this series, which was the highest-rated HBO Max original since the platform’s introduction four months earlier.

In the final episode. Mother hides her emotional relationship with No. 7 under Grandmother’s veil (the serpent). Mother kills the serpent but chooses to keep the veil, for the time being, leaving the children in the care of Grandmother and Father. Grandmother discovers that, as her crew of androids did to the previous generation of humans on Kepler-22b, she wants to descend this human colony into sea fish beings.
The mother becomes emotionally unstable as a result of this realization, and the veil envelops her and closes her down. Grandmother takes advantage of the situation to place her in a hibernation pod.
Meanwhile, Marcus tries to return underground in pursuit of Sol’s source, but Lucius, inspired by Sol’s voice, disables and captures Marcus. Lucius then crucifies Marcus on the tree that grew from the dead body of No. 7. Marcus later emerges hanging in the air above the tree, inverted crucified and with blood trickling from his palms, having been liberated from his bindings.
So, fans will not be able to envision how these characters would have evolved and how their story arcs would have been expanded further. So, if you want to remember all of the episodes and plots from the previous season. Here is a complete episode guide for the second season of Raised By Wolves.

Hence, we can’t predict what key details or surprises would have been revealed in subsequent seasons, or how the show would have ended because the episode ended on a potential cliffhanger which should have been explored much better if the series was not canceled. We suggest the fans to watch the prior seasons and try to draw their own conclusions about the story.
