Finally, some good news for the fandom has arrived! Here is everything we know so far about Reacher Season 2.
The long-awaited second season isn’t far away, and filming has wrapped after being in the works since the fall of 2022. This is a great update for fans, even though there is still time for the network to confirm the official release date, which the fandom has been waiting for to see how Jack Reacher’s story will unfold further. However, for your consideration, we think that the second season, just like the first one is expected to premiere sometime in mid-2023.
There is no doubt that the series will return in the first half of this year, as Vernon Sanders, head of Prime Video Television, also hinted at the same to Collider. On the other hand, the release window is just speculation, and we need to be patient for these details to be confirmed. In the meantime, watch the official video message shared by Amazon, which features none other than Alan Ritchson being blooded up on the final day of filming, with the caption, “That’s a wrap on #Reacher Season 2.”

The second season will be based on “Bad Luck and Trouble.” It is the eleventh book in the Jack Reacher series written by Lee Child. It was published in 2007 and written in the third person. The plot of the book follows, from a helicopter high above the California desert, a man who is sent free-falling into the night.
On the streets of Portland, Jack Reacher is pulled out of his wandering life and plunged into the heart of a conspiracy that is killing old friends and the people he once trusted with his life. Reacher is the ultimate loner—no phone, no ties, no address. But a woman from his old military unit has found him using a signal only the eight members of their elite team would know.
Then she tells him a terrifying story about the brutal death of a man they both served with. Soon Reacher is reuniting with the survivors of his team, scrambling to unravel the sudden disappearance of two other comrades. But Reacher won’t give up—because in a world of bad luck and trouble when someone targets Jack Reacher and his team, they’d better be ready for what comes right back at them.

The Amazon’s official logline for the season is a bit more brutal, stating, “When the members of Reacher’s old military unit start turning up dead, Reacher has just one thing on his mind — revenge.” Along with the return of Alan Ritchson in the lead role, Maria Sten will reprise her role as Frances Neagley. The team of Reacher’s former Special Investigator Task Force is Luke Bilyk as Calvin Franz, Dean McKenzie as Stan Lowery, Edsson Morales as Manuel Orozco, Andres Collantes as Jorge Sanchez, and Shannon Kook-Chun as Tony Swan.
Moreover, along with the main cast, some new members have also joined the next season, as confirmed by Deadline, which is as follows:
- Swan has been cast as Karla Dixon
- Kingsley has been cast as A.M
- Cochrane has been cast as Shane Langston
- Lombardozzi has been cast as Guy Russo
- Olsson has been cast as Saropian
- Blacker has been cast as Hortense Fields
- Sapienza has been cast as Marsh
In addition to this, coming off the main role in Outer Range, Shaun Sipos has also joined another Prime Video series. He has been tapped as a major lead opposite Alan Ritchson in the upcoming second season of Reacher. In a one-year deal, Sipos will play David O’Donnell. He served with Reacher (Ritchson) in 110th, the Army’s unit of Special Investigators, and is like a brother to Reacher. The series is executive produced by Santora, Lee Child, Don Granger, and Scott Sullivan, with David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Bill Bost for Skydance.
Reacher Season 1: A Quick Recap
Reacher is based on Child’s first Jack Reacher novel, “Killing Floor,” and follows Jack Reacher, a veteran military police investigator who has just recently entered civilian life. Reacher is a drifter, carrying no phone and the barest of essentials as he travels the country and explores the nation he once served. When Reacher arrives in the small town of Margrave, Georgia, he finds a community grappling with its first homicide in 20 years.
Eventually, the viewers learn that the cops immediately arrest him and eyewitnesses claim to place Reacher at the scene of the crime. While he works to prove his innocence, a deep-seated conspiracy begins to emerge, one that will require Reacher’s keen mind and hard-hitting fists to deal with. One thing above all is for sure: They picked the wrong guy to take the fall.
