A Netflix Original fantasy-action anime series, Record of Ragnarok is an adaptation of the titular manga publication by authors Shinya Umeura and Takumi Fukui. Produced by Graphinica, the first season of the anime series ricocheted the charts on Netflix. It would come off as a surprise if the series was not renewed for a second season.
Here’s a brief outline of the anime series, via What’s on Netflix:
“When the gods decide to end the existence of mankind, the valkyrie Brunhilda convinces the pantheon to give humanity one last chance and to hold the tournament Ragnarok. In order to survive, humanity must win 7 out of the 13 fights against the gods. To give humanity an even greater chance, the valkyries risk their own lives and bond their souls to the humans, giving them a powerful tailored weapon capable of killing gods.”
With the first half of the second season concluding, the fans of the anime series crave more action, more adrenaline, and more thrill. That being said, the further five episodes are scheduled to arrive on Netflix sometime in 2023. Here’s everything we know about Record of Ragnarok Season 2 Part 2.
What to expect from Record of Ragnarok season 2?
*Spoiler alert*
Out of all the scheduled thirteen skirmishes, season one featured only three fights. So far, we see the Gods having an upper hand against mankind, as they win two rounds out of the three. In the first round, Thor and Lu Blu compete, with the former predictably achieving his victory over the latter. In the second round, Zeus and Adam are seen competing with each other. Again, Zeus predictably wins over Adam. Kojiro Saski is the winner of the third round, competing with Poseidon.
With a 2-1 lead, the second season of Record of Ragnarok features the fourth round, in which we “will see the god Hercules take on one of the most infamous serial killers in history, Jack the Ripper.” The first part of the second season also featured the skirmish between Shiva and Raiden, with the former, being the Almighty defeating the latter.
With Shiva’s victory over Raiden, the Gods are leading the competition at 3-2. However, it may remain the same, because in a flabbergasting, yet interesting turn of events, one of the most powerful gods, Buddha, has now decided to represent mankind and fight against his divine compeers. This makes sense because born as a former human who later ascended to godhood, Buddha feels obliged to aid the mortals. According to What’s on Netflix, Buddha will be fighting Zerofoku, one of the Seven Lucky Gods.”
Round 7 will see the founder of the Chinese Qin Dynasty, Qin Shi Huang, tete a tete with Hades, the Greek god of the underworld and brother Poseidon. The second part will also feature round eight which will bring one of the greatest scientific minds, the Serbian-American scientist Nikola Tesla against Beelzabub, the philistine deity of Judaism and Christianity.
