After a whooping start to its first season and many more bouts yet to be fought between mankind and the gods, Record of Ragnarok is all set to return with a season 2.
A Netflix Original fantasy-action anime series Record of Ragnarok (which technically comes from Warner Bros. Japan) is an adaptation of the manga publication of the same name by authors Shinya Umeura and Takumi Fukui. The series has been produced by Graphinica who has previously worked on anime such as Hellsing, Wonder Momo, and Another World.
Season 1 of Record of Ragnarok hit Netflix in June 2021.

Record of Ragnarok season 2 Netflix release date
So here’s the good news. According to the official Record of Ragnarok website, Part 1 of season 2, which consists of ten episodes, will be arriving in January 2023 on Netflix.
Episodes 1-10 of Record of Ragnarok season 2 will be available for streaming on January 26, 2022.
An official teaser for season 2 was earlier released in 2022. Not to forget a brand new trailer for the second part of season 2 has also been released. It has further revealed that episodes 11-15, which comprise the second part of season 2, will be released sometime later in 2023.

What is the plot of Record of Ragnarok ?
According to IMDb, ‘Every 1000 years, the Gods’ Council assemble to decide the fate of humanity. After 7 million years of human history, the gods come to the decision that humans are irredeemable and must be extinct. However, the valkyrie Brunhild proposes that humanity must have one last chance to prove its worth. The gods agree on this and decide to hold the battle of Ragnarok, with 13 notable humans from across history against 13 of the most powerful gods engaging in duels to death. The competition takes place with the condition that if the human side wins 7 victories, humanity will be spared. Moreover, each human is granted the assistance of a valkyrie who transforms into a powerful weapon tailored for their combat style called “Volund”, at the risk of losing her life if the user is killed.

In Record of Ragnarok season 1, out of the thirteen bouts, we’ve only seen three fights so far with the Gods who have already won two bouts against mankind.
What to expect from Record of Ragnarok season 2?
For Record of Ragnarok season 2, the fourth round of the bout has just begun, where we expect to see the god Hercules take on one of the most infamous serial killers in history, Jack the Ripper.
The future bouts which we can look forward to including the fifth round where Raiden Tameemon will be seen fighting Shiva and the sixth round is expected to be Buddha versus Zerofuku.
