Reginald the Vampire is an American comedy-horror television series that concluded on December 7, 2022, with a reported 241,000 U.S. viewers who tuned in to watch the final episode. This makes the show’s renewal for Season 2 unsurprising after a strong first-season run that saw it ranked as cable’s #2 drama.
The review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes reports a 70% approval rating with an average rating of 6.7/10, based on 10 critic reviews. The website’s critics’ consensus reads, “Reginald doesn’t particularly stand out in the already crowded vampire genre, but Jacob Batalon invests his hapless protagonist with enough charm to make this spunky series worth a bite.”

Reginald the Vampire Season 2 Renewal Status
Attention readers! the good news has arrived early for the fans as Reginald the Vampire will definitely return back to the screen with the second season as Jacob Batalon will definitely come back as a creature of the night. “The only thing better than getting the opportunity to make a season of television with SYFY is to get the opportunity to do it again,” said Peyton. Macadam told SYFY WIRE in October, quote, “All of us – cast and crew, writers, producers, and – can hardly wait.”
“What really appealed to me was this is such an underdog story, and there’s a really positive message that’s baked into all of the entertainment and comedy.” Further adding, “It’s very aspirational, and it’s just so much fun. And all those other shows don’t have Jacob and the cast that we have. We’ve just nailed it right off the top.” In addition to this, the official Instagram handle of the network also confirmed the news among its followers, quoting, “We can’t wait to sink our teeth into #ReginaldTheVampire SEASON 2!” Take a look at the announcement below:

Reginald the Vampire Season 2 Release Date and Time Slot
As the series was renewed for a second season a few hours ago, it makes it way too early for the network to announce the prospective premiere date for the second season. But if we have to predict the potential release date of Reginald the Vampire Season 2, it might happen sometime in the fall, around late 2023, with October being the likely timeframe. It is anticipated to air at the same time slot of 10 p.m. on Wednesday in the 18 to 49 demographic.
Hence, any statement about the show’s official release date and time slot is still pending verification by the network. So, this is just speculation that the next season might follow the same pattern and be released in a similar time frame if the network decides to go with the exact schedule. Hence, we suggest that the viewers be patient and follow all the social media platforms for the series to be updated with the latest information for the upcoming season.
Reginald the Vampire Season 2: What to expect?
The new season is expected to follow the basic premise further which states that the series follows Reginald Andres as he tumbles headlong into it as an unlikely hero who will have to navigate every kind of obstacle – the girl he loves but can’t be with, a bully manager at work and the vampire chieftain who wants him dead. Fortunately, Reginald discovers he has a few unrecognized powers of his own. A new show with a lot of heart and just enough blood, Reginald the Vampire proves the undead life is just as complicated as life itself. The season will continue the plot from the final episode, “Reginald Andres Beyond Thunderdome,” in which the viewers got to see that the much-anticipated Assessment finally arrives and the only open question is whether or not Reginald will survive it. Moreover, Sarah and Reg will be together and the viewers will be part of their journey.
The main cast members from the first season are expected to reprise their roles which are as follows Jacob Batalon as Reginald Baksin, Mandela Van Peebles as Maurice Miller, Em Haine as Sarah Kinney, Georgia Waters as Penelope, Marguerite Hanna as Ashley, Aren Buchholz as Todd, Savannah Basley as Angela, and Sean Yves Lessard as Lebron. Reginald the Vampire is produced by Great Pacific Media Inc., Modern Story Company, December Films, and Cineflix Studios and executive produced by Harley Peyton, Jeremiah Chechik, Todd Berger, Lindsay Macadam, Brett Burlock, and Peter Emerson. The series is based on the book series by Johnny B. Truant.
Additionally, Season 2 is about being a couple, and what happens to all of them. And of course, Reginald, and Sarah will always be the centerpiece of that. In an interview with Syfy, when asked, “Speaking of Claire, what are we supposed to take away from what she does to the vamps and how she reveals it to Maurice?” Showrunner Harley Peyton replied, “We talked a lot about that early on, because her power – such as it is, with laser eyes – wasn’t really revealed until the second book. I really wanted to get it into our first season but SYFY was very smart in making me slowly play it because I was ready to jump in. In fairness, the focus needed to be Reginald. But we always wanted to get to this moment, and it just worked out perfectly that she would do that to the vampires who’ve been sent to kill her. Without giving anything away, it becomes very, very important in the second season. It’s all about being the daughter of an Incubus. There are not many of those and so that’s really where that power came from. The metaphor for her is puberty, of course. But now, in Season 2, it’s going to be becoming a young woman.”
For one of the crucial questions, “What does Urial’s appearance portend going forward?” Showrunner Harley Peyton stated, “In the book, there’s a war with the angels. Now bear in mind, we can’t afford a huge war with the angels. [Laughs.] Happily, that’s not what happens. I’m not going to give anything away, but I got lucky there. For me, it was just having a really big moment about how can we leave the audience wondering what happens next? It was showing how Urial basically kills cuts off her head in the aftermath of The Assessment, and there he is about to have a slushy, it’s hard not to think that Reginald is in a huge amount of trouble. But let’s find out what an angel thinks when it has his first sip of a slushy, that’s all I’m saying. It gave us a ramp to a second season that I was really happy with. It’s gonna be pretty wild.”
