The rumor spread in less than a minute after the ‘Euphoria’ actress posted a mirror selfie showing off her outfit of the day on Thursday, September 21.
Fans were quick to notice a large pearl ring on her hand in the photo, fueling rumors of her engagement with the ‘Uncharted’ actor. However, the Disney alum did not take too long to shut down the engagement rumors.
Zendaya dismisses engagement rumors
The ‘Dune’ actress hopped back on Instagram to set the record straight on the engagement rumors involving Tom Holland. In a now-deleted video, Zendaya directly addressed the speculation regarding the ring on her finger, saying, “I can’t post anything you guysssss. I posted it for my hat!” At this moment, a burst of laughter could be heard in the background, with Zendaya adding, “like not for the ring on my right finger you guys! Seriously, you think that’s how I would drop the news? You think, like?! What!” she said playfully.

This is not all, as Zendaya cleared the air once again by reposting the original snapshot, signifying that she is, indeed, not engaged. “Let me just put the full body back so ya’ll can relax,” she captioned the photo.

Speaking about how she deals with dating Holland amidst public interest, Zendaya expressed to Elle in July, “Parts of my life, I accept, are going to be public. I can’t not be a person and live my life and love the person I love. But also, I do have control over what I choose to share. It’s about protecting the peace and letting things be your own but also not being afraid to exist. You can’t hide. That’s not fun, either. I am navigating it more than ever now.”
