2022 has seen a slew of supernatural K-dramas and is expecting more. Park Joon Hwa, the director behind dramas like Touch Your Heart (2019), What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim (2019), and Bring It On, Ghost (2016), is preparing for the highly awaited supernatural drama Return.
Return is co-written by Hong Mi Ran and Hong Jung Eun, who have previously worked together on the hit dramas – Hotel del Luna (2019), A Korean Odyssey (2017), and My Girlfriend is a Gumiho (2010).
The crew is experienced in the field of supernatural and fantasy and looks extremely promising. Lets further have a look at what Return has to offer.
Return Plot
Jang Wook comes from a noble family in Daeho. There is a dark secret regarding his birth which happens to be the talk of the town. Wook is an infamous troublemaker. One day he meets Mu Deok, who ends up becoming his servant and also teaches him to fight.
Seo Yool is from the noble Seo Family. He is just the perfect man – good-looking, smart, and portrays strong martial arts skills.
Go Won is the crown prince of Daeho hoping to become a great King in the future.
Everyone’s life changes one day, due to hwanhonsool – the soul of the dead returning to the living realm.
Return Release Date
Return is scheduled to premiere on June 18, 2022, on tvN and Netflix. It is set to have a total of 20 episodes with each episode being aired every Saturday and Sunday, until the last episode on August 21, 2022.
Return Cast
The Extraordinary You (2019) heartthrob, Lee Jae Wook, is back as the main lead, Jan Wook. Lee debuted as an actor in 2018 in Memories of the Alhambra. He received his first leading role in 2020 in Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol alongside Go Ara.
Jung So Min will be playing the role of Mu Deok. Jung became an instant fan favorite with her debut in 2010 in the drama Bad Guy. She has since starred in several dramas including The Smile Has Left Your Eyes (2018), My Father is Strange (2017), The Sound of Your Heart (2016), and Playful Kiss (2010).
Boy band, NU’EST member, Hwang Min Hyun will also be seen in the drama as Seo Yool. So far he has appeared in two dramas – Reckless Family Season 3 (2013), Live One (2020), and one movie – The Distance (2016). Fans are excited to see the multitalented star explore more of the actor in him.
Shin Seung Ho, best know for his roles in web series A-Teen (2018), A-Teen 2 (2019), and television drama Love Alarm (2019), will be playing the role of Go Won in Return.
Other actors include Oh Na Ra as Kim Do Ju, Yoo Jun Sang as Park Jin, Lee Do Kyung as Heo Yeom, Jo Jae Yoon as Jin Mu, and Hong Seo Hee as Heo Yeon Ok.
Joo Sang Wook, Park So Jin, OH MY GIRL member Arin, and All of us are Dead (2022) star Yoo In Soo, will also be appearing in the drama in a supporting role.
Go Yoon Jung, famous for her role in Law School (2021) and He is Psychometric (2019) will be having a guest appearance in the drama.
