The Barbadian singer, Rihanna, was the headline performer of this year’s halftime entertainment, which took place on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Sponsored by Apple Music, it is currently the most-watched Super Bowl halftime show of all time, reaching over 121 million concurrent viewers. One of the reasons why the show went viral was the surprise reveal made by the “Lift Me Up” singer, where her baby bump was on full display before the performance began.
The unexpected pregnancy announcement during the live performance with millions tuned in to watch it play out was a major highlight of the year as it attracted many headlines with her fans joining in to trend the reveal on social media. It kind of became a frenzy as this was Rihanna’s second pregnancy after having her first baby boy, RZA Athelaston Mayers, with rapper A$AP Rocky, 35, who is named after Wu-Tang Clan leader and founder RZA.
Months after the nine-time Grammy Award winner, 35, became the first person to headline a Super Bowl halftime show while being pregnant, and welcoming her second son, named Riot Rose Mayers, on August 1, 2023. The beloved fashion icon, in a recent interview with Access Hollywood’s Scott Evans at her Fenty x Puma Creeper Phatty launch party in Los Angeles, once again left fans stunned by candidly admitting that the announcement was not planned, quote:
“Here’s the thing. I did what I had to do, right? My jumper couldn’t zip up,” the Fenty Beauty founder told the outlet, laughing. Talking about the outfit she said, “No one knew I was pregnant. I just told my stylist, ‘Make sure it’s stretchy.'” Further adding, “So the undergarment was stretchy and this [jacket] was baggy, but you know, the zip. It just stopped right there! So it had to be what it had to be.”

I’m just a background, I’m an extra. Yep! It happens! … It doesn’t matter if it’s girls or boys, they love their dad differently and I love to see it.”

You just hope.” Further added, “I hope that I can have kids one day, and I hope I can have them in love. And I hope that I can be a part of a family that breaks generational curses and just moves forward and does new things and raises our kids better than we’ve been raised.”
