Riverdale Season 7 Release Date and Time Slot

The spring of 2023 is going to be jam-packed for CW viewers! The last season of Riverdale is officially on the way.

If you recall, back in March 2022, the series was renewed for a seventh and final season. After months of anticipation, the season’s release date has been officially confirmed! It is set to premiere on Wednesday nights, March 29, 2023, and end on August 23, 2023, at the time slot of 9 p.m. ET on the CW network and sometime later on Netflix for international viewers, just like the other original series and movies that are exclusively available on the streaming platform. It is the latest series to be canceled by the CW, following Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman, Naomi, Legacies, Dynasty, Charmed, Roswell, New Mexico, In the Dark, and 4400.

According to Deadline, the CW boss Mark Pedowitz on Thursday morning said that he thinks “seven years is the right amount.” He further added, “I am a big believer of giving series that have had a long run an appropriate send-off. We had a long conversation with Roberto [Aguirre-Sacasa] yesterday and he is thrilled with the decision,” Pedowitz said. “We are going to treat the show in the manner it deserves. It’s been an iconic pop culture star and we want to make sure that it goes out the right way.” Additionally, Lili Reinhart, who portrays Betty Cooper, shared some new BTS images from the set on her official Instagram handle, simply quoting, “Sneak Peek 705.” Take a look at the post below:

Riverdale Season 7 Plot

The seventh season of Riverdale goes where no season of Riverdale has dared to go before – the 1950s! Picking up where last season ended, Jughead Jones (Sprouse) finds himself trapped in the 1950s. He has no idea how he got there, nor how to get back to the present. His friends are no help, as they are living seemingly authentic lives, similar to their classic Archie Comics counterparts, unaware that they’ve ever been anywhere but the 1950s. Archie Andrews (Apa) is the classic all-American teen, coming of age, getting into trouble, and learning life lessons; Betty Cooper (Reinhart) is the girl next door, starting to question everything about her perfect life – including her controlling mother Alice (Mädchen Amick); Veronica Lodge (Mendes) is a Hollywood starlet who moved to Riverdale under mysterious circumstances.

As Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) is the Queen Bee with a withering wit and a secret longing; Toni Topaz (Vanessa Morgan) is an activist fighting for the Black students of recently integrated Riverdale High; Kevin Keller (Casey Cott) is a “square” crooner wrestling with his sexual identity; Reggie Mantle (Charles Melton) is a basketball star from farm country; and Fangs Fogarty (Drew Ray Tanner) is a greaser who’s destined to be an Elvis-type star. It isn’t until Jughead is visited by Tabitha Tate (Erinn Westbrook) – Riverdale’s Guardian Angel – that he learns the cosmic truth about their predicament. Will Jughead and the gang be able to return to the present? Or will our characters be trapped in the 1950s forever? And, if so…is that such a bad thing?

Riverdale Season 7: Is there any teaser or trailer?

No, the network has not released any teaser or trailer for Riverdale Season 7, and we don’t anticipate seeing one for a while. In the meantime, check out the sixth season to recall all the events that will transpire in the last season. The sixth season begins with a special five-episode event arc entitled “Rivervale.” picking up where season five ended, with Archie (KJ Apa) and Betty (Lili Reinhart) deciding to give their romantic relationship another shot, just as a bomb planted by Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos) under Archie’s bed was about to go off. Strangely, that bomb seemingly doesn’t explode, and when Archie and Betty wake up the next morning, they’re living in the town of Rivervale.

Their lives in Riverdale are but a distant dream. It’s hard to believe, but things in Rivervale are much darker and creepier than in Riverdale. There are ghosts, curses, witches, demons, human sacrifices, and special guest stars galore – including a visit from everybody’s favorite twenty-something witch, Sabrina Spellman (guest star Kiernan Shipka)! How did our characters come to be in Rivervale? And what, exactly, is Rivervale? An alternate universe? A dream dimension? Limbo? Archie’s comic fantasy? The mystery will be revealed in Riverdale’s hundredth episode, “The Jughead Paradox.”
