2024 is turning out to be Sabrina Carpenter’s shining year!

Making her “Saturday Night Live” debut on the Season 49 finale, the 25-year-old rising pop star turned the late-night stage into her own mini-concert by singing her first Hot 100 top-10 single “Espresso” in a live bar-themed performance, alongside a medley of “Feather” and “Nonsense.”

Ever since the episode aired on Saturday, May 18, 2024, Carpenter’s performance as the first-time musical guest has been getting praise across social media. And to relish in her moment of glory, she has wasted no time in sharing a few clips from her appearance on Instagram.

Making reference to the same lyrics in her caption, the “Skin” singer wrote, “Literally working late cuz I’m a singer @nbcsnl thank you for having us I’m sooooo not chill about it and never will be.”

Fans also chimed in the comment section to congratulate their favorite artist as one user wrote, “Best SNL performance i’ve ever seen 🫶!” A second one commented, “My girl has grown up and they finally gave her the credit she deserved ❤️❤️” A third one said, “Think I’ve watched this 100 times.”

Her debut on the show also came as Adele mentioned the song “Espresso” while taking the stage for her Las Vegas residency show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The British singer hummed the same lyrics of the song, by singing, “I found myself singing, ‘I’m working late, ’cause I’m a singer.'”

“That Sabrina Carpenter song! ‘I can’t relate to desperation.’ That song is my jam!,” Adele continued to add. “From tomorrow, it will be like, ‘I’m sleeping late ’cause I’m a singer,’ because that’s what I’m gonna do tomorrow,” the “Academy Award” winning artist later joked with her audience.

On the other hand, the fan-recorded video clip has been gaining a lot of traction which also got Carpenter’s attention. To this, she simply wrote on her Instagram Stories, “Um guys can someone check on me.” She also commented on a Pop Base post on X (fka Twitter), joking, “all i read was Adele thinks about me in bed <3”

Lastly, Carpenter also made an appearance in the pre-recorded “Scooby-Doo” sketch with actor Jake Gyllenhaal, 43, who was the night’s host during the episode. In the sketch, while attempting to solve a mystery, she played the role of Daphne, alongside the other three portraying Fred, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby-Doo.
