Selena Gomez bloomed like live roses in a crocheted floral dress with bold 3D flowers.
According to a report by Page Six, Gomez donned a magnanimous floral Oscar de la Renta dress at the Billboard Music Awards 2023 while she accepted her award for the best Afrobeats category. She delivered her award acceptance speech via a pre-recorded tape that was released ahead of the show.
The 31-year-old singer donned the 3D flower-printed dress tied to the back of her neck with a slender ribbon. She complimented the frivolity of the dress with a snatched half-ponytail and completed the look with subtle nude makeup that included glossed-up lips and sun-kissed bronzer on her cheeks.
Page Six speculates that her inspiration behind the bold choice of dress follows in the footsteps of what her best friend Taylor Swift wore to the 2021 Grammy’s, a similar floral dress by the same designer. In her pre-recorded acceptance speech, the Rare Beauty founder was recorded saying, “Hi, Billboard! Thank you guys so, so much for this award,” she continued her speech, stating, “This is honestly Rema’s doing,” alluding to the 23-year-old Nigerian rapper, Rema, who she collaborated on her winning piece, “Calm Down.” She continued in her speech, “He chose me to be a part of such an incredible song. So I want to thank him and thank all of you for streaming and listening and I wish we could be there. But thank you!”
The Billboard Award wasn’t the only honor awarded to the song. “Calm Down” has received innumerable accolades, including nominations in four other categories at the Billboards on Sunday, winning the best music video at The Headies, one billion streams award from Spotify Plaques, and several others.
Page Six reported via recently gathered information that the “Same Old Love” singer has been going on girl’s night outs with her BFF, Swift. She rocked a classic black look to grab sushi with the “Lover” singer, along with Zoë Kravitz and Keleigh Sperry. Another escapade included her donning a cozy knit maxi dress while she was out with Swift and Brittany Mahomes, along with Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne, and Sophie Turner.
