_WORLD
The brand new track is an urban and funk R&B genre song. The said song features a combination of a sweet melody and funky rhythm. The track’s meaning is that all possibilities are open, so everyone is able to interpret the world they always wanted in their lives. Earlier, the SEVENTEEN members Joshua, DK, and Seungkwan were featured in the video’s teaser as they enjoyed and reacted to single Anne-Marie’s vocals.
The video’s release
As revealed by PLEDIS Entertainment earlier on August 24, 2022, the K-pop group SEVENTEEN finally released a collaboration single titled _WORLD with Anne-Marie on August 26, 2022, at 1 pm KST. For the unversed, _WORLD is the title song of the group’s fourth full-length repackaged album, SECTOR 17, which was released on July 18, 2022.
The new collaboration
The SEVENTEEN members already gave a glimpse of their collaboration with Anne-Marie earlier via social media. The group earlier released a challenge video titled ‘I Just Called’ with a phrase that reads, “WE’RE LOOKING AT YOU” to which Anne-Marie responded, thereby receiving widespread global fans’ attention. Talking about the same, the singer asked, “Can I join your world?” to which SEVENTEEN responded with the following phrase, “Let’s start your interview.”
SECTOR 17
Talking about SEVENTEEN’s repackage album SECTOR 17, it has been creating multiple records ever since its release. On July 31, 2022, Billboard announced that the popular boy group SEVENTEEN had ranked #4 on the Top 200 Album Chart with their album SECTOR 17. The repacked album has become SEVENTEEN’s highest-ever rank yet by making the new record on the Billboard 200 chart. Moreover, SECTOR 17 is the fourth album of the group to have entered the chart overall. Previously, Your Choice, Attacca, and Face the Sun had also ranked on the same chart.
SECTOR 17 had earlier become SEVENTEEN’s second top 10 entry on the Billboard chart as the group had earlier debuted and peaked at #7 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart with Face the Sun. Apart from that, the repackaged album also earned a total number of 34,000 equivalent album units during the week ending of July 2022.
