SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan undergoes elbow surgery

SEVENTEEN’s member Jeonghan has recently undergone surgery, as revealed by the group’s agency PLEDIS Entertainment. It was on June 17, 2022, that the agency released a notice about the singer undergoing surgery for an elbow injury. The same notice suggests that Jeonghan has received conservative treatment owing to infection and damage to his right elbow’s upper tendon. The popular K-pop star had reportedly visited the hospital due to increased pain. The authorities informed him that his tendon damage and lateral epicondylitis had worsened and that he needed surgery.

PLEDIS’ statement

PLEDIS, SEVENTEEN’s official agency, has also confirmed that Jeonghan is determined to attend the group’s prearranged engagements and will be participating in all of them. However, he will also be receiving medical consultations at the same time as long as the activities do not put much strain on his recovery.

We would like to provide you with some information regarding SEVENTEEN member JEONGHAN’s elbow injury.

JEONGHAN has been receiving conservative treatment such as receiving injections for an infection and damage in his outer tendon on his right elbow. JEONGHAN recently visited the hospital due to increased pain in his elbow and received word from the medical staff that his lateral epicondylitis and tendon damage has worsened. It has been determined that surgery was needed which he received on Wednesday the 15th.

The operation was successful, and the artist has been recuperating after being discharged as of Thursday the 16th. JEONGHAN will be wearing cast for the time being, as well as brace in order to protect the treated area, and to aid in a faster recovery.

The artist is highly determined to attend all of the group’s prearranged engagements; however, his participation will be adjusted depending on the circumstances, placing his recovery as the top most priority as per recommended by the medical staff.

As such, JEONGHAN will be participating in the group’s prearranged activities including the SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR [BE THE SUN] in his cast and brace while continuously receiving medical consultations, so long as it does not put too much strain on his recovery. We ask our fans for your kind consideration.

Talking about the K-pop group SEVENTEEN, the group members are currently basking in the success of their latest album Face the Sun. The title track HOT has also received a humongous response from Carats around the world. Recently, Face the Sun also grabbed the seventh spot on the Billboard 200 chart. It is the third entry of SEVENTEEN in the chart after Your Choice (June 2021) and Attacca (October 2021). The milestone achieved with Face the Sun has made SEVENTEEN the second act in K-pop history to have amounted to 2 million sales within a week after BTS.
