SEVENTEEN makes record with Face the Sun as it enters Billboard 200 chart

The Carats couldn’t be more excited as SEVENTEEN has added yet another feather to its hat. The boy group that is popularly known as the stage breakers of K-pop has witnessed a whole lot of success in recent times. Now, the talented artists have yet another career-best to their credit as their fourth studio album, Face the Sun, has grabbed the seventh spot on the Billboard 200 chart.

Now that the group members have made it to the Billboard 200 chart, they have broken their own record of ranking in the same chart as their last release, Attacca, which grabbed the 13th spot earlier. As for their recently released album, it is the third entry of SEVENTEEN in the chart after Your Choice (June 2021) and Attacca (October 2021). The group sold a total number of 2.06 million copies of the album in the first week of its release. For the unversed, it is the highest number sold for any album in the year 2022.

Other records

The milestone achieved with Face the Sun has made SEVENTEEN the second act in K-pop history to have amounted to 2 million sales within a week after BTS. The album and its title track, HOT, have received a tremendous response around the world. As for the thirteen-member group, they also celebrated their seventh debut anniversary a day ahead of Face the Sun’s release.

Upcoming tour

For the unversed, the SEVENTEEN members are all set to begin their upcoming world tour titled SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR (BE THE SUN) starting from June 25, 2022. Their first show will be held in Seoul, South Korea, which will be followed by 12 more stops in North America.

The pre-orders of the album Face the Sun exceeded 2 million copies globally, as recorded on May 20, 2022. The much-awaited album was later released on May 27, 2022. With this, the SEVENTEEN members have made another record for themselves just a week ahead of their comeback. As for SEVENTEEN, the group also won the title of Double Million Seller (after having sold 2 million copies) with their fourth consecutive album, Face the Sun. The said album contains the group’s ambition to become the most influential sun across the world.
