SEVENTEEN makes record with FACE THE SUN as it stays on Billboard 200 for three consecutive weeks

Did you know that the SEVENTEEN members achieved their career first on Billboard 200 recently? It was on June 28, 2022, that Billboard announced about SEVENTEEN’s latest studio album FACE THE SUN has remained on the Top 200 Albums Chart for not one but the third consecutive week. For the unversed, the Albums Chart is a weekly ranking of the most popular albums in the US. So, FACE THE SUN has charted at no. 92 in the week that ends on July 2, 2022. So, it is SEVENTEEN’s first-ever album to have remained for over three weeks on the Billboard 200.

The album’s record

FACE THE SUN had previously become the popular K-pop group’s first-ever album to have entered the top 10 charts of the Billboard 200 earlier last month when it initially debuted at no. 7.

SEVENTEEN’s achievement

Talking about SEVENTEEN entering the Billboard 200 chart, the group has broken its own record of ranking in the same chart as its last release, Attacca, which grabbed the 13th spot earlier. As for their recently released album, it is the third entry of SEVENTEEN in the chart after Your Choice (June 2021) and Attacca (October 2021). The group sold a total number of 2.06 million copies of the album in the first week of its release. For the unversed, it is the highest number sold for any album in the year 2022.

Face the Sun’s earlier records

The milestone achieved with FACE THE SUN has made SEVENTEEN the second act in K-pop history to have amounted to 2 million sales within a week after BTS. The album and its title track, HOT, have received a tremendous response around the world. As for the thirteen-member group, they also celebrated their seventh debut anniversary a day ahead of Face the Sun’s release.

SEVENTEEN’s tour

The SEVENTEEN members are currently on cloud nine as they are busy with their ongoing concerts and upcoming plans. The popular K-pop group kicked off it’s Be The Sun world tour with two of its shows scheduled in Seoul, South Korea, before heading out to other countries. Apart from the Carats, a huge number of K-pop stars also turned up for their latest concert held at the Gocheok sky dome located in Seoul.

The best part was when fans spotted BTS’ youngest member Jungkook among the crowd. For the unversed, the golden maknae is friends with SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu and it seems like he has shown up for his bestie.
