Severance Season 2 is not coming in February 2023

Severance Season 2: When will the new season premiere?

Unfortunately, the second season will not be premiering on the network until February 2023, so the viewers will have to wait a little longer because Severance Season 2 is definitely airing this year!

The series renewal was officially announced by Apple TV+ on April 6, 2022, and the filming of the new episodes began on October 3, 2022, in New York City and is reported to be set to conclude on May 12, 2023. Additionally, the second season will also shoot in New Jersey. Since the production is still ongoing, speculating about the potential release date of the show is way too early for the fans to get started, as it is reported that the shooting started in October 2022 and will likely stretch out to May 2023, a seven-month window.

But if we have to guess, looking at the pattern of the first season, the second season will most likely premiere sometime around mid-2023, which can be August 2023 at approximately 12:01 a.m. PT. Many fans are predicting the range of months may differ considering the premiere dates for season one were around this time frame. Moreover, we would like to highlight that at this point in time, this is just speculation! Moreover, Stiller told us as much back in April, when he recommended that we all choose patience after a fan on Twitter asked how long the wait would be.

Severance Season 2: What to expect?

The series’ basic premise will be continued, with Mark Scout leading a team at Lumon Industries, whose employees have undergone a severance procedure that surgically separates their memories between their work and personal lives. This daring experiment in “work-life balance” is called into question as Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work… and of himself. The season is also expected to continue from the final episode, “The We We Are,” of the first season, in which the team discovers troubling revelations.

Additionally, Creator Dan Erickson didn’t reveal much at the Severance Comic-Con panel, saying only that Season 2 would focus on “building out the world a little bit more, and with this tweak to reality, what the ramifications would be.” And when asked whether the show will explain what the deal is with the goats, Erickson simply replied, “Yeah.” Great! “In Season Two, we’re going to be showing all of these people on the outside,” the show creators told Entertainment Weekly.

“Similar to Mark, they each had their own reason for getting this procedure, and they’re all at some stage of a healing process for one thing or another… Being able to take what Adam did in the first season – with the differentiation between his innie and outie, and how they feel like the same person but with this vastly different lived experience – seeing the other three characters’ version of that dichotomy is, I think, the most exciting part.”

“It’s really exciting to see the response from people who are loving the show – and the level of fan engagement,” said Stiller. “It has been a long road bringing ‘Severance’ to television. I first read Dan’s pilot over five years ago. It has always been a multi-season story, and I’m really happy we get to continue it. I’m grateful to our partners at Apple TV+ who have been behind it the whole way. Praise Keir!”

Further adding, “Thanks to creator Dan Erickson, the brilliant Ben Stiller, and an incomparable cast and crew, ‘Severance’ has imagined an existence that’s equal parts riveting and enthralling as viewers around the globe can’t get enough of these rich characters,” said Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+. “We’re excited to go deeper into this wholly unique world and unpack more layers of Lumon in season two.”
