Is Shining Girls renewed for Season 2?
Shining Girls is yet to be officially confirmed by Apple TV+ for renewal. The first season of Shining Girls comes to an end with the finale episode simply titled, 30, released on June 3, 2022. This season is considered a mini-season because it only has 8 episodes in its first part, which is jam-packed with suspense. Moreover, the episode is directed by Daina Reid and written by Silka Luisa.
As the series has just concluded only a few hours ago any news or update about the potential renewal for the second season seems way too early for any major network to announce such crucial announcements in such a short span of time. Apple TV+ has yet to formally verify and acknowledge this information, so fans should be patient. The network may examine the series’ performance and reception before approving its renewal for future seasons.
Shining Girls Season 2 Potential Release Date
The release date of the series has yet to be announced, as the series renewal has not been officially confirmed by the network, and the status is hanging in the air. Furthermore, if the show’s creators and writers decide that, despite public interest, the series could be canceled after only one season because the story has been exhausted and cannot be explored further, the series’ renewal and the faith for any new season will be determined by these factors as well.
However, if we have to estimate a possible release date for Shining Girls Season 2, it appears that if the production for the second season begins by mid to late 2022, the series would be available to stream by early to mid-2023. On April 29, 2022, the first episode was released, Cutline, directed by Michelle MacLaren and written by Silka Luisa, was the first episode, and it’s a prediction that the rest of the season will follow that pattern to be on schedule.

In the episode, the viewers got to see that, a person laying many flowers between two pieces of wood in Chicago, 1848. Harper goes to the same location in the current timeline immediately after killing Dan and discovers a puppy in the house. Kirby advises Jin-Sook that they must act as though they belong in the new timeline they awoke in Episode 7.
We see that Kirby goes to Dan’s old address, but he doesn’t reside there anymore. That is until Kirby and Abby discover Dan’s death in a local tavern. Kirby discovers that Jin-Sook is still alive since Dan died instead. Harper murders Leo after they start arguing. As a result, everything for Kirby and Jin-Sook changes. Moreover, Kirby learns that she works in archives after speaking with Marcus, who is now married to Vicky. Kirby investigates Dan’s death while the building’s residents become suspicious of Jin-presence.
The viewers also get to see that general consensus is that Dan was stealing right before he died. Despite the fact that Iris has no idea who Kirby is, she lets her rummage Dan’s belongings. Kirby is able to track down “the house” as a result of this. Kirby stabs Harper in the neck when he exclaims, “It’s my f**king house.” Following that, Shining Girls returns to Harper’s visit to Klara following her dancing performance.
Later in the episode, when Harper is ready to steal the watch, he is shown an image of himself taken at that same moment. The address of “the house” is included in the photos. He and Leo find the house and investigate it. He and Leo are on the lookout for the house. Kirby returns to the house at the end of the episode and lets Grendal, the dog, inside. Kirby and Grendal are alone on the sofa at the end of Shining Girls.
Shining Girls Season 2 is expected to be picked up from this moment and continue the story in terms of characters and plotlines for another season starting from this precise moment of the finale episode to pick up any potential loopholes and cliffhangers. All of the previous episodes have set the tone for the season, which will develop and expand in ways that will entice viewers to watch the show.
