Former child star and singer Aaron Carter passed away at the young age of 34 years on Saturday. The musician was reportedly found dead in his residence in California, reports TMZ. A representative of the late singer declined to comment but noted that a statement would be released shortly by the family members and the management. For the unversed, Aaron was the younger brother of Backstreet Boys fame Nick Carter.

The cause of death
People reports that no cause of death has been revealed yet regarding the late artist. However, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department reportedly told The Hollywood Reporter that a suspicious death took place at the address of Aaron Carter’s residence in Lancaster. But the spokesperson could not confirm the identity at the time. As of now, Aaron’s fellow artists have reacted to the tragic news of his demise on social media and mourned his loss. His fiancé, Melanie Martin, has also released a short statement following the news of his demise that reads, “We are still in the process of accepting this unfortunate reality. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.”

On the other hand, Hilary Duff also penned an emotional note remembering Carter and wrote, “I’m deeply sorry that life was so hard for you and that you had to struggle in front of the whole world. You had a charm that was absolutely effervescent… boy did my teenage self love you deeply.” Duff and Carter reportedly dated as teen stars, and their relationship was on and off for about three years.
