Singer Aaron Carter passes away aged 34; Fellow stars pay emotional tribute

Former child star and singer Aaron Carter passed away at the young age of 34 years on Saturday. The musician was reportedly found dead in his residence in California, reports TMZ. A representative of the late singer declined to comment but noted that a statement would be released shortly by the family members and the management. For the unversed, Aaron was the younger brother of Backstreet Boys fame Nick Carter.

Talking about Aaron Carter, he rose to fame in 1997 with the self-titled album, followed by the release of Aaron’s Party in 2000, Oh! Aaron in 2001, and Another Earthquake! In 2002. The late singer embarked on his first solo tour in 2000. Apart from his musical career, Aaron also made TV appearances in Sabrina the Teenage Witch, 7th Heaven, and movies like Popstar, Fat Albert, and Supercross.

The cause of death

People reports that no cause of death has been revealed yet regarding the late artist. However, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department reportedly told The Hollywood Reporter that a suspicious death took place at the address of Aaron Carter’s residence in Lancaster. But the spokesperson could not confirm the identity at the time. As of now, Aaron’s fellow artists have reacted to the tragic news of his demise on social media and mourned his loss. His fiancé, Melanie Martin, has also released a short statement following the news of his demise that reads, “We are still in the process of accepting this unfortunate reality. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.”

Celebrity reactions

On the other hand, Hilary Duff also penned an emotional note remembering Carter and wrote, “I’m deeply sorry that life was so hard for you and that you had to struggle in front of the whole world. You had a charm that was absolutely effervescent… boy did my teenage self love you deeply.” Duff and Carter reportedly dated as teen stars, and their relationship was on and off for about three years.

One Tree Hill fame Tyler Hilton remembered Aaron Carter and wrote, “No…. This @aaroncarter news is heartbreaking. This kid had such a spark. Known him for years and always really liked him, he was warm and really funny. Loved putting on a show and he was good at it. I’ll find some pics of us and post more later… damn RIP budddd #aaroncarter.”

Fellow music sensation New Kids on the Block expressed their shock over the passing of Carter. The note shared on Twitter reads, “We are shocked and saddened about the sudden passing of Aaron Carter. Sending prayers to the Carter family. Rest in peace, Aaron.”
