Looks like more $4 club sodas are coming right up…! Here is everything we know so far about Single Drunk Female Season 2.

If you’re wondering, this is the right time for the new season to continue the storyline that fans have been anticipating for so long. We regret to inform you that there’s still plenty of time, as the second season won’t return on Freeform until February 2023. We understand that this is a huge disappointment for fans, but there is some good news too, as you will only have to wait a few months longer because Single Drunk Female will definitely return this year! The network has officially confirmed that the second season is all set to premiere on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. 

On the other hand, it is also reported to air on a weekly basis at the time slot of 10:00 p.m. EDT/PDT on Freeform. Additionally, the entire 10-episode second season will be available on Hulu and on-demand platforms the next day, Thursday, April 13, 2023. The official announcement of the season’s premiere was also confirmed on the official Twitter handle, quoting, “Season 2 premiere date, anyone? #SingleDrunkFemale returns April 12th on @FreeformTV, every episode available next-day on @hulu.” Take a look at the post below: 

The season is expected to expand the basic premise which states, “A public flame-out at a New York media company forces 20-something alcoholic Samantha Fink to move back home with her overbearing mother; Samantha then sets out on a path to figure out her best self while confronted with remnants of her old life, including run-ins with her perfect former best friend, who is now dating her ex, Samantha sets out on a path to move past her worst self and figure out her best self. Kinda.”  

According to the reports, the second season finds Sam a year and a half into her sobriety journey and finally feeling like she has a life worth celebrating. However, Sam quickly learns that sometimes life has other plans for her. Sam must figure out how to effect change where she can, sit in her discomfort when she can’t, and maybe even enjoy the ride. The main cast members who are expected to reprise their roles in the new season are as follows:

  • Sofia Black-D’Elia as Samantha Fink
  • Rebecca Henderson as Olivia
  • Sasha Compère as Brit
  • Lily Mae Harrington as Felicia
  • Garrick Bernard as James
  • Ally Sheedy as Carol

Additionally, Ian Gomez has been elevated to series regular as Carol’s boyfriend, Bob. Busy Philipps and Ricky Velez will recur as new people in Sam’s life, and Charlie Hall will once again recur as Sam’s ex, Joel. As previously announced, Molly Ringwald will guest star as Carol’s sister-in-law Alice. The series comes from 20th Television and is executive produced by Jenni Konner, Daisy Gardner, Simone Finch, John Riggi, Phil Traill, Nora Silver, and Leslye Headland.

Episode 5: Sober for the D and V: Sam embarks upon her first terrifyingly personal hook-up as a sober person with the help of Felicia, who has big plans to jump-start Sam’s dating life; Carol “accidentally” plants a small seed of doubt in Brit’s mind about Joel.

Episode 6: Look Me Up Sometime: Sam scores a victory when she lands a job interview in New York with an unlikely ally, only to discover how scary it is to write while sober; concerned her daughter needs help, Carol breaks a boundary and introduces herself to Olivia.

Episode 7: New York: Sam and James travel to New York; while there, Sam is confronted with memories of who she was before sobriety and must decide whether she can risk being Old Sam again; Olivia and Stephanie take an important step in their IVF journey.

Episode 8: James: An inebriated James meets a drunken “Katrina” in a bar on Thanksgiving; after getting kicked out, the two embark upon their own one-night holiday celebration; James’ time with Sam spurs him to make a change.
