We all know by now that Spider-Man: No Way Home was one of the biggest releases of 2021, and it has certainly proved it. The movie has made history by grossing more than $800 million domestically this weekend. Moreover, it does not seem to slow down as the superhero blockbuster is expected to earn $1.85 million on its 15th weekend, bringing its domestic total to a mind-blowing $800.4 million.

This third installment in the Homecoming trilogy has responded like no other, domestic or international box office. The love showered by the Spidey fans is quite evident from the movie’s overall collections.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($936 million) and Avengers: Endgame ($858 million) are the two other films that grossed more than $800 million domestically. No Way Home has performed better than many recording-breaking blockbusters such as Black Panther, Avatar, and The Avengers. The film has grossed nearly $1.9 billion internationally in less than a week after debuting to chart-topping numbers.

The secretive marketing technique for the movie’s promotion has paid off. The anticipation of fans around the world for this movie has been unreal. The fan theories made it possible to build a strong community of admirers to be up to date about its release and rush into the cinema halls to experience this once-in-a-lifetime event. As Tom Holland said it ideally, the movie celebrates three generations of Spider-Man live-action adaptation.

No Way Home consistently performed well, even during this pandemic situation. The film grossed the most money in 2021. It isn’t easy to imagine how much more exceptionally it would perform under normal conditions.

The film starred Tom Holland as the comic book hero. He has to finally understand the responsibility on his shoulders and tackle the multi-dimensional villains from another universe. He has to choose by reuniting the cast members from the previous two Spider-Man film series.

Tobey Maguire (Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man), who played the character in Sam Raimi’s trilogy of hits, and Andrew Garfield (The Amazing Spider-Man), who took the role in two Marc Webb films, both showed up in supporting roles in No Way Home.

This was accomplished by a plotline involving the multiverse cracking open and helping Tom Holland’s Spider-Man to save the day. The big reveal of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield received roaring applause in the theaters. Fans were tearing up with excitement as they were again experiencing previous iterations of the beloved character, which seemed too good to be true.

Zendaya as Michelle Jones, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, and Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Strange also reprised their roles in the movie.

Alfred Molina (Doc Ock), Jamie Foxx (Electro), Willem Dafoe (Green Goblin), Thomas Haden Church (Sandman), and Rhys Ifans (Lizard) returned to the big screen as the icon villains from the previous Spider-Man franchises.

No Way Home marks Tom Holland’s sixth appearance as the Web Head. He first appeared as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War in 2016, marking it as the first official entrance of Spider-Man in the MCU expanded universe. It made fans excited to see their childhood superhero finally embracing the big screen with the Avengers.

He also showed up in Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019) and two solo Spider-Man films, directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)
