Squid Game Season 2 Release date
There’s no official date for Squid Game Season 2 currently but it’s confirmed that the show has been renewed. In November 2021, Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk confirmed that new episodes have been commissioned, he told Associated Press: “There’s been so much pressure, so much demand and so much love for a second season. So I almost feel like you leave us no choice! But I will say there will indeed be a second season. It’s in my head right now. I’m in the planning process currently. But I do think it’s too early to say when and how that’s going to happen. So I will promise you this Gi-Hun will come back, and he will do something for the world.”
However, we have to wait for the official release date for this season as according to some rumors, it’ll take some more time to come as the first season took two years to make. And adding to that, a rumor suggests that the creator Hwang Dong-hyuk hasn’t even started working on the script yet because he doesn’t want to rush into it.
What might be the plot of Squid Game Season 2?
In the first season, the murderous game took everyone’s life except Gi-hun and he managed to beat the game against all odds. But the twist is that the game is far from over yet and it’ll continue with new members. In this season, we expect to see Gi-hun taking the centre stage again and doing everything possible to stop the game and defeat the creators of the same.
How will he defeat them even after getting his new wealth? Is there any way to stop the game forever? All these questions will be answered in the second season of the show.
“I have no idea what will happen or the scale of it, but the only thing [director Hwang] did tell me was that Seong Gi-hun is going to be in the show again, and he’s going to be playing in the arena again,” actor Lee Jung-Jae told People. The creator of the show also revealed that “Gi-Hun will come back, and he will do something for the world”.
Who all could make a comeback in Squid Game Season 2?
We are not expecting to see many familiar faces in the new season as almost everyone died at the end of the first season. But the one person you can likely count on is the comeback of Seong Gi-hun – played by Lee Jung-Jae, who, after making it out of the game alive, tempted to go back and do something to stop the deadly game. Actors Park Hae-soo, Oh Yeong-su, and Hoyeon – could potentially make a comeback, but only at best in flashbacks.
How many episodes will be there in Squid Game Season 2?
Squid Game Season 2 might follow the same pattern as Season 1 by dropping 9 episodes or it may take the viewers by surprise by introducing more episodes as well. However, everything depends on the makers.
