Disney seems to be quite active with its Star Wars content as there is a list of highly anticipated titles from the franchise this year and the coming one. The recent storylines that will be hitting the screens somehow revolve around the post-Order 66 events. As the Empire’s power is getting stronger and it has a firm hold of the galaxy, especially after their efforts to remove them from the face of the universe, multiple individuals and groups are looking for the right chance to stand up and ‘bring balance’ in the universe all over again.
Something very similar is going to be in the upcoming Star Wars series, Andor. Here’s everything we know about it:
Andor Release Date
Andor is all set to release on Wednesday, August 31, 2022.
How many episodes will be there in Star Wars: Andor?
As per the information released, Andor will be having 12 episodes in total. Though there has been no information on the release format, we expect it to have a weekly release schedule just like other Disney+ shows.
Andor Trailer
The trailer of the Star Wars series Andor has been released and it is set not long after Order 66 got instated. The stormtroopers aren’t adorning their suits and a huge training facility is present which gives an idea that it hasn’t been long enough. The trailer gives some idea that the plot would be revolving around espionage and data theft as there have been a lot of frames depicting the insides of the imperial building. The trailer shows nothing regarding the Jedis so we can expect that there might be none in the series.
What is Andor all about?
The story is set soon after Order 66 came into action and the Jedi went into exile. However, not everyone got scared and shielded away from the conflict. A group of ‘rebels’ came together and formed a Rebel Alliance which will take up risks and espionage in order to fight off the Galactic empire. The story will highlight one such member of the group, Cassian Andor.
Star Wars: Andor Cast
- Diego Luna as Cassian Andor. He is a thief who lost his home to Empire’s tyranny. Though he was someone who was completely averse to the idea of revolution, with time his resolve to save the galaxy became more concrete.
- Stellan Skarsgård
- Adria Arjona
- Fiona Shaw
- Denise Gough
- Kyle Soller
- Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma
- Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera. He is a veteran of the Clone Wars and the leader of a militant insurgent group.
Robert Emms, Anton Lesser, and David Hayman have also been cast in supporting roles but no information regarding their roles has surfaced.
Will there be a Season 2 of Andor?
Andor is a two-part series where there will be two seasons of 12 episodes each. So, it is pretty much evident that the future of the series is mapped and the production will be sticking to that. The filming of the second season is expected to begin after the first season finishes airing. Both the seasons will be giving a vivid and profound elucidation of Cassian as well as the Rebellion’s journey.
