Stephen Baldwin has broken his usual silence on daughter Hailey Bieber, offering rare and heartfelt praise for her booming success in the beauty industry. The 59-year-old actor appeared on Tori Spelling’s misSPELLING podcast this week, where he discussed Hailey’s achievements with her skincare and makeup brand, Rhode.

Though Baldwin typically keeps his relationship with his daughter private, he couldn’t help but express admiration for what she’s accomplished at just 28 years old.

“I never talk about her, but my daughter has done the impossible, relatively,” Baldwin told Spelling during their conversation on Tuesday. “But in this day and age, in the last 10 years, it’s not impossible. It’s happened.”

He continued, reflecting on the changing nature of success in the digital age: “It’s like these kinds of successes are happening. And young people are making unbelievable amounts of money on the Internet in ways that are very sketchy. So God bless her.”

Hailey launched Rhode in 2022, and her brand has since become a significant player in the beauty space. It is often praised for its minimalist approach and effective products that customers have immensely loved. The company has been able to quickly build a loyal customer base, all thanks to Hailey’s savvy marketing and strong social media presence. Baldwin’s comments suggest a growing admiration for how his daughter has leveraged modern platforms to create something lasting and lucrative.

Stephen shares Hailey and her older sister, Alaia Baldwin, 32, with his wife Kennya Baldwin. While he and Hailey have not often spoken publicly about each other, there have been signs in the past that their relationship may be complicated.

In a July 2024 interview with W magazine, Hailey revealed that she wasn’t particularly close with her family at that point in her life. “I’m not super close with my family at this point in my life because I feel like I’m very independent. I’m my own individual now, and I’ve built my own family,” she said.

Despite acknowledging her famous roots, she shared mostly positive memories of her upbringing. “I had a fairly normal childhood,” Hailey said. “When I look back on my childhood and how I grew up, I have very fond, beautiful memories. Obviously, I come from the family that I come from, and I always recognized that that was different.”

Following the publication of that interview, Stephen Baldwin appeared to respond indirectly. He posted a cryptic selfie video on Instagram, where he looked into the camera with a soft smirk and said, “I love you,” before turning away and smirking again. The post was widely interpreted as a subtle message to Hailey in light of her candid remarks.

Baldwin has also publicly acknowledged his appreciation for Hailey’s husband, Justin Bieber. In a July 2025 appearance on The Adam Carolla Show, amid swirling rumors of marital trouble between the pop star and Hailey, Baldwin described himself as “blessed” because both of his daughters had “married two great guys.”

While the Baldwin-Bieber family dynamics may be complex, Stephen’s recent comments signal admiration for Hailey’s accomplishments and perhaps even a thawing of any perceived distance. With Rhode continuing to grow and Hailey firmly establishing herself as a businesswoman independent of her famous name, it seems the actor father is finally ready to give his daughter the public credit she deserves.
