Harvey welled up while paying heartwarming tribute to wife Marjorie for his success during his acceptance speech at theGrio Awards.

People reported that the 66-year-old host was handed The Television Icon Award at the theGrio Awards. During his acceptance speech, he dedicated most of its content, as well as the award itself, to his wife. The two have been together for 18 years.

He stated during his speech, “That woman right there been down with me like four flat tires,” and continued saying that his wife has been “faithful” and “loyal to me.” He then proceeded to point toward her in the audience and stated, “85% of what y’all up here [are] talking to me about happened after I married that girl right there.”

People suggest that Harvey even addressed uproaring rumors of his wife recently cheating on him by saying, “We’ve been 18 years strong,” adding, “I don’t know what y’all been trying to do, but we covered, though.”

The Family Feud host then went on to cite several verses from the Bible, which included Isaiah 54:17, Isaiah 43:1-2 and Psalm 91, and then handed over his award to the staff to give to his wife. He concluded the speech by saying, “I love you Marjorie Harvey,” adding, “I appreciate you riding with me.”

According to People, the 2023 Award ceremony was created by businessman Byron Allen, which, according to a press release acquired by People, was “to celebrate and amplify African American excellence and the incredible champions from other communities who truly support us.” Apart from Harvey, other honoraries included personalities Mariah Carey, Don Cheadle, Misty Copeland, Kevin Hart, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Denzel Washington, and Eddie Murphy.

Coming back to the rampant infidelity rumors, both Harvey and his wife addressed them on social media in August after speculation of infidelity in their marriage surfaced on X and began swirling online. Steve spoke about the rumors at Invest Fest 2023 in Atlanta shared by a user on TikTok, stating to the audience, “Before I get started, just let me say, I’m fine. Marriage is fine,” adding, “I don’t know what y’all are doin’, but find something else to do ‘cause we fine, Lord have mercy.”

On the other hand, Marjorie went online to put a damper on these rumors once and for all with an Instagram post, sharing an article title that read, “How to handle being lied about,” which included a Bible verse about “hurled insults.” She captioned the post, “My husband and I don’t usually stop to address all the foolishness and lies that have been spread about us,” adding, “However to whom much is given much is required. I understand that with my platform comes some sort of responsibility to those that may not be as strong as we are.”

She ended the caption stating, “Read and share this with your love ones that may not know how to properly cope,” adding, “God Bless all of you 🙏🏾😍.”

People reported that the star-studded couple first met in the 90s but tied the knot many years later in 2007 and just celebrated their 16 years of togetherness in July. Their blended family consists of seven children, Brandi, Karli, Broderick, Wynton, Morgan, Jason, and Lori — as well as seven grandchildren.

Five years after they got hitched, at the time, Harvey told People, “I’d never been in a healthy adult relationship,” adding, “I’d never been loyal, I’d never been fully respected.”
