There is a sad piece of news for all the Stray Kids fans as one of the members, Hyunjin, recently lost his grandfather. On October 4, 2022, JYP Entertainment, the agency associated with the K-pop group notified everyone regarding a change in Hyunjin’s schedule participation. The latest update has left the fans saddened about the entire matter.

Agency’s announcement
JYP Entertainment has released an official statement regarding Hyunbin and here is what is reads,
“Hello, this is JYPE.
Stray Kids member Hyunjin’s maternal grandfather has passed away.
Consequently, Hyunjin will not be attending ‘NACIFIC’s ‘Stray Kids Video Call Date Part.2’ scheduled for today (10/4).
We ask for the kind understanding of STAY, and please send Hyunjin warm words of consolation.
Rest in peace.
Thank you.”

Earlier ventures
Talking about Stray Kids, the boy group released the much-awaited album ODDINARY on March 18, 2022, and it became a huge success. ODDINARY became the first-ever K-pop album this year to rank for six consecutive weeks on Billboard’s Top Albums chart. This particular chart includes a weekly ranking of the most popular albums in and around the United States.
With this album, Stray Kids became the eighth K-pop group to enter an album on the Billboard 200 chart for not one but six weeks straight! They followed in the footsteps of BTS, BLACKPINK, NCT, NCT 127, SuperM, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, and TWICE in this regard.
Upon its release, Stray Kids’ ODDINARY debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart making the band the third Korean artist in history to top the same. They have joined BTS and SuperM in making this Billboard record. Well, the achievements of the mini-album do not end here. It has also debuted at number two on the Taskmaster Albums Chart after its release.
The K-pop group
The South Korean boy band Stray Kids was formed in 2017 by JYP entertainment. The group has eight members including I.N, Felix, Han, Hyunjin, Changbin, Bang Chan, and Lee Know. However, the group was earlier a nine-piece band. But one of the members, Woojin, left in October 2019 due to undisclosed personal reasons.
