Stray Kids have recently earned something that not even the BTS members were able to do earlier: making a record of seven consecutive no. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

Their latest album, KARMA, has debuted atop the list on August 31. Not only this, the set also earned 313,000 equivalent album units in the United States in the week ending August 28. Of the entire sum, the traditional album sales comprises 296,000. Both figures mark career high for Stray Kids, who made their debut in the K-pop space in 2018.

To the fans’ surprise, KARMA has also landed the third-biggest week by units on the Billboard chart among all albums of 2025. The 11-track set, led by the lead single, CEREMONY, is the first full-length release of the group in over two years.

Prior to this, the K-pop band’s winning streak started with ODDINARY in 2022, which debuted at no. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart entries. This was followed by MAXIDENT, 5-STAR, ROCK-STAR, AND ATE. A year ago, another EP of Stray Kids, HOP, also debuted atop the same list. With this, Stray Kids became the first-ever act to debut at no. 1 with their first six entries in the overall 69-year history of the chart. And now, they have added another feather to their cap with KARMA’s debut on the same chart.

The K-pop group, that has a record of selling over 31 million albums in both Korean and Japanese in 2024, has not only surpassed the BTS, but also other big names like Linkin Park and Dave Matthews band. This record is for the most no. 1s on the Billboard list of this century since 2000.

In other news, the soundtrack for Kpop Demon Hunters made it to the no. 2 position on the same list as that of KARMA.

Also in the list of the top 10 of the Billboard 200 albums chart are some unexpected names. For instance, Laufey makes it to the fourth position of the chart with A Matter of Time. This is the first time that the Icelandic singer has made it to the top 10 Billboard rankings. Next, the Deftones landed on the fifth position with Private Music. Tyler, the Creator’s Cherry Bomb also re-entered the chart at the no. 6 position.

Additionally, BigXthaPlug made his debut on the Billboard top 200 list at the 7th position with I Hope You’re Happy.

As for the Stray Kids, the success of KARMA and its lead track Ceremony has surely put the group back into the popularity picture. Now, it’s yet to be seen whether their upcoming releases will be able to break the records of their previous albums on Billboard.
