The police drama is returning to your screens for a sixth season.
It’s finally happening! S.W.A.T. has been renewed for another season, and this cop drama is only getting better with each season, and fans can’t get enough of it. Yes, you heard it right S.W.A.T. Season 6 is happening.
According to the live plus seven ratings for the show’s March 27 episode, the viewership alone has amassed around 5.5 million viewers, which explains why CBS, the network, has been quick to renew the series for another season.
Furthermore, it has become one of the network’s top-performing shows, providing an excellent opportunity for the creatives to explore more characters and dimensions for the story and drama to unfold further.

The series centers on Sergeant Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson. A lifelong Los Angeles local and former Marine, Hondo has been tapped to lead a new “last stop” Special Weapons and Tactics unit.
Because he is both black and L.A.-born and raised, Hondo feels deeply loyal not only to his “brothers in blue” but also to the people they serve. This makes him particularly qualified to lead the team and build a bridge between the force and the community. S.W.A.T. Season 6 Renewal Status
Much to fans’ delight, the series is officially renewed for another action-packed installment. Based on Robert Hamner’s 1975 series of the same name. The show’s fifth season began in October and will conclude in May. So it’s fantastic that the series has been renewed just as it’s about to premiere because it allows the series to go into production and launch Season 6 ahead of schedule, saving fans from having to wait so long.

S.W.A.T. Season 6 Release Date
S.W.A.T. Season 6 official release date is yet to be announced. As for now, only the renewal announcement has been made. The network is yet to reveal the plot and characters, which will take time as these details will be notified when the series is nearing completion and has a set premiere date.
But if we have to guess by looking at the pattern to previous season release dates, it might premiere around October and November 2022. As a result, fans must keep an eye out for such details which could be released.

The series usually has 21-23 episodes, except for Season 4, which has much fewer episodes than the others, notably 18 episodes. The first season received a 48 percent approval rating on the review aggregator website, Rotten Tomatoes, with an average rating of 4.59/10 based on 27 reviews.
The website’s critical consensus reads, “Despite a commanding, charming performance from Shemar Moore, S.W.A.T. remains a simple procedural overrun with clichés.”
Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, gave the film a 45 out of 100, indicating “mixed or average reviews.”
According to IMDb, the series has a score of 7.2 out of 10 with 21k votes.
