The time has finally arrived, and the first half of the 2023-24 television broadcast season is going to end with a bang with many beloved series, one of them being the American police procedural television series “S.W.A.T.,” which has so far had an amazing run with six successful seasons on CBS.

The network has now confirmed that the finale will be divided into two episodes, with the first part premiering on Friday, May 12, 2023, from 8 to 9 p.m. The second part will premiere the following week, on Friday, May 19, 2023, at the same time slot of 8 to 9 p.m. on CBS and later on Paramount Plus.

The network has only disclosed the title of the first part of the Season 6 finale, simply titled “Get Shorty,” which will follow a Los Angeles S.W.A.T. lieutenant who balances loyalty to the job and to the streets where he grew up. But, the details about Part 2 will be published once the release date draws closer.

Two of the network’s other dramas, NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: Hawai’i, are also getting two-part season-enders. Moreover, CBS also revealed the season wraps of comedies such as Ghosts, Young Sheldon, the FBI franchise, CSI: Vegas, Fire Country, The Equalizer, and East New York, among others.

S.W.A.T. Season 6: When will the new episode premiere?

The 17th episode, “Stockholm,” is set to premiere next week on Friday, March 31, 2023, at the same time slot of 8/7c on CBS and Paramount Plus. The official synopsis of the episode states, “The team works with the FBI to hunt one of its most-wanted fugitives; Hondo and Nichelle are faced with an unexpected development in her pregnancy.” The average runtime of this episode is approximately 44 minutes. The episode is directed by Michael D. Olmos and written by Mellori Velasquez. 

The main cast members who will return are Shemar Moore as Daniel Harrelson, Alex Russell as Jim Street, Kenny Johnson as Dominic Luca, David Lim as Victor Tan, Patrick St. Esprit as Robert Hicks, Rochelle Aytes as Nichelle Carmichael, and Jay Harrington as David Kay. The action drama is produced by Sony Pictures Television and CBS Studios. Aaron Rahsaan Thomas, Shawn Ryan, Justin Lin, Neal Moritz, Marney Hochman, Danielle Woodrow, Pavun Shetty, Allison Cross, Craig Gore, Billy Gierhart, and Andy Dettman executive produce.

Moreover, S.W.A.T. Season 6 is available on all prior platforms that have the rights to stream the series, as well as on-air on the CBS channel and later on Paramount Plus. All the previous seasons are also available to stream on FuboTV or Hulu Plus. The series is also available to rent or buy on iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, and Vudu, based on the location with preferred membership plans that the users can choose from. On the other hand, it is also available to watch for free on the Pluto and CBS platform, based on the viewer’s location, especially for the international audience.
