Check out the tweet below:

“It’s been equally thrilling and heartwarming to experience how people around the world have been falling in love with our deer-boy. Sweet Tooth Season 2: Is there a release date yet?

Unfortunately, there is no release date for the second season as of now but we’re expecting new episodes somewhere around late 2022 or early 2023 as the filming was set to begin in January 2022 and it seems like the show will return to Auckland, New Zealand for the shooting of the upcoming season.

Sweet Tooth Season 2: What will be the plot?

The TV series is based on the comics by Jeff Lemire and follows almost the same story. At the end of the first season, we saw the Last Men have Gus in captivity, with other Hybrids planning to save him. Thankfully, Jepperd and Aimee are teaming up to break into the lab and save their children. “Heal up. Tomorrow we get our kids back,” she says.

But will they be successful or not is a question for the upcoming season. Gus’ mother is another story, Bear manages to make contact with her via radio and it turns out that she’s in Alaska and there’re chances that the virus originated from there. We expect to see more of Gus’ mother this season and is she the one looking for a cure?

Another question this season has to answer is why Birdie created human/deer Hybrid Gus (short for Genetic Unit Series 1), if/how his existence led to the birth of all of the other Hybrids, and if they’re connected to the Sick that has killed millions of people around the world. It will be interesting to see whether the show will move in a scientific direction or it’ll follow some religious path just like in the comics.

New characters will be joining the series too and The National Foundation for Deaf & Hard of Hearing posted that the Sweet Tooth team were “looking for talented kids who may be deaf, hearing impaired HOH and kids versed in NZSL sign language” so, it’s clear that the makers are looking for new characters as well in the upcoming season.
