The network has officially confirmed that Tales of the Walking Dead is set to premiere on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at 9 p.m. on AMC and AMC+. Tales of the Walking Dead Filming Status
Filming for the series began in January 2022 in Buford, Georgia, with the first episode directed by Michael E. Satrazemis; who has directed several episodes of both The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead. In February 2022, it was confirmed that Satrazemis would direct three of the six first-season episodes, with the remaining episodes directed by Haifaa al-Mansour, Deborah Kampmeier, and Tara Nicole Weyr (who previously directed for Fear the Walking Dead).
The production of the show wrapped around April 2022, as the show creator, Channing Powell, shared the news on Instagram, quoting, “We wrapped Tales yesterday after months of hard work. Tales of the Walking Dead Plot
The official plot description of the series states, “Season 1 is the upcoming first season of AMC’s Tales of The Walking Dead. This season, like the whole series, is an episodic anthology that will follow individual characters from The Walking Dead TV universe, both new and old. This season consists of six original one-hour standalone episodes focused on both new and established characters within the walker apocalypse. Each episode has its own distinct tone and point of view – but the stakes are high in each story, pushing new, indelible characters with relentless, life-threatening choices and situations. We get to see the apocalypse through different eyes, discovering more worlds, mythos, and mysteries of The Walking Dead.”

Tales of the Walking Dead is reported to have will have 6 one-hour long stand-alone episodes that explore the entire range of human sentiments using well-known characters and brand-new faces. The series will depict the end of the world from a variety of viewpoints through unique characters each week. The first episode will air on August 14, 2022, followed by a release of one episode per week until September 18, 2022.
