Taylor Swift has proved to be a humanitarian, along with being a great artist.

Tennessee Emergency Response Fund at the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee received a million dollars from the 33-year-old Grammy winner, per USA Today. Nashville’s WZTV reported 13 tornadoes touching down in Tennessee on Saturday, citing the Storm Prediction Center. This news comes after several devastating storms ripped through multiple counties in the area, leaving at least six people dead. Reportedly, two children are dead.

CEO of the Community Foundation, Hal Cato, confirmed that Swift had indeed donated the exact amount reported. The donations provide ample aid to survivors struck by the natural disaster with financial assistance, food, temporary housing, debris clean-up, and animal sheltering.

As bodies of the dead are counted up in relation to the disaster, CNN reports that an additional 50 people were reported injured. Additionally, the buildings were structurally damaged, and power outages have affected those living in the area, per People.

Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts said in a statement shared on Facebook, writing, “This is devastating news and our hearts are broken for the families of those who lost loved ones,” adding, “The City stands ready to help them in their time of grief.” This was not the first time the Midnight album singer made a sizable contribution to mankind. People reported that she also donated $1 million to the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund in March 2020 after deadly tornadoes once again ravaged the state that the Pennsylvania native considers home.

At the time, the “Cruel Summer” singer said via an Instagram story, “Nashville is my home, and the fact that so many people have lost their homes and so much more in Middle Tennessee is devastating to me.” She also added the donation link for other people to help out with the cause.

While reports confirm that the Eras Tour essentially turned the artist into a billionaire, she made a gesture by making donations during the tour, as reported by People. In June, during a two-night stop for performances at Detroit’s Ford Field, the “Lover” singer donated to Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan.

After sharing Swift’s message, “No matter what happens in life, be good to people,” the food bank added one of their own, which said, “These words ring true today with Taylor’s surprise donation to Gleaners during her #TSTheErasTour stop in #Detroit,” continuing, “Thank you for making an impact & empowering kids and families with nutritious food!”

Kristin Sokul, a representative for Gleaners, told the Detroit Free Press at the time, “Taylor Swift’s support of food banks across the country comes at such a critical time for so many emergency food providers — when resources are down and need is up.”

According to People, Sokul continued praising the 1989 album singer, “The space in her heart will empower households across Southeast Michigan to live happier, healthier lives and elevate the important issue of food security so others who have the ability to help can be inspired by her example. The entire Gleaners team is so grateful for this incredible gift.”
