Taylor Swift has no bad blood with friends whose snakes slither into her house and dismantle her bathroom.
Appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers show, her latest halt on her The Life of a Showgirl promotional run, on Wednesday, October 8, the 35-year-old singer reminisced about the time when Zoë Kravitz’s pet snake was lost in her Beverley Hills home. According to PEOPLE, the Batman actress had originally recounted the story while appearing on the show on August 12. During her appearance, she revealed that Swift had generously offered her and her mom, Lisa Bonet, a place to stay when the LA fires ravaged their neighborhoods.
Talking about the time when her mom’s pet snake slithered into a “little hole” in Swift’s bathroom, Kravitz, 36, shared that she and Bonet had to “rip up the tile, scratching the walls” to retrieve the snake. The actress confessed, “We completely destroyed Taylor’s bathroom.”
Appearing on the same show almost two months later to promote the launch of her most recent album, the Fate of Ophelia singer said that “she can’t even be mad” about this incident. Approaching it with a humorous perspective, the pop-culture icon said to Meyers, “We’ve all got that one friend. I just remember getting a call from my head of security and him trying to explain this story to me.”
Swift recalled asking the question “what snake?”, revealing that she was not aware that her home was also sheltering a reptile houseguest.
To which Seth remarked, “If someone told you, ‘Oh, the snake is loose,’ and you didn’t even know there was a snake…”
According to E! News, Swift then emphasized, “Did not know there was a snake.”
Continuing with the story, the singer further said, “I kind of found myself listening to this. And I’m like, ‘Uh-huh, OK, OK.’ And I hate to first-and-last name a friend, but it’s important in this situation. OK, so Zoe Kravitz and Lisa Bonet are holding on to a Burmese python. It’s halfway in the wall. There’s a man standing with an ax, who has just chopped up a custom vintage antique cupboard.”
Enjoying how the story had unfolded, the Blank Space singer remarked, “There’s splinters on the floor. They’re looking — in my mind, this is an Annie Leibovitz shoot. … This is the chicest thing I’ve ever heard in my life…not a problem.”
“It just sounds incredible. I’m sad I didn’t see it. I can’t even be mad”, Swift concluded.
Not just that, but the 14-time Grammy-awarded winner also played a ‘little game’ in her head, counting the days Kravitz would take to finally make a clean breast of it. She revealed that it was “three weeks, exactly the amount of time it took to fix the damaged cupboard,” until Kravitz spoke about the incident.
According to E! News, Swift said, “I know her well enough to know, ‘She’s not gonna tell me about this until it’s fixed. I know her so well. I just kept a little countdown on my phone, like just counting the days. I think it was like three weeks—exactly the amount of time it took to fix the damaged cupboard.”
Being the “summer sun” that she is, Swift revealed to Meyers that she told Kravitz not to worry about it, telling her, “Dude, I’ve been laughing about this for three weeks.”
Although there’s been no bad blood between the two, who’ve been friends since 2016, Zoë admitted to E!News in August that she had not been back to Taylor’s home since the Snakegate incident, quipping that it’s “not ’cause I wasn’t invited. It’s just because I haven’t been in L.A.”
