Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s love story is like a chapter in a novel that you do not want to move on from.
In the latest update of their romantic liaison, The Fate of Ophelia singer revealed the romantic letter that her now-fiancé sent to her before her final three shows in Vancouver in December 2024. According to PEOPLE, this reveal happened during the sixth episode of Swift’s Eras Tour docuseries, Taylor Swift: The End of an Era, titled “Remember This Moment,” which dropped on Tuesday, December 23.
In the episode, Taylor can be seen backstage, accompanied by her mom, Andrea Swift, as she reads out the note from the Kansas City Chiefs star, 36, who calls her “the love of my life.”
With a smile enamoring her face, Taylor says, while being surrounded by a large bouquet of white roses, “So many unbelievable memories on this tour, but my favorite one is seeing you in concert for the first time and being mesmerized and swept off my feet by a woman who doesn’t even know me. Selfishly, I say thank you for creating this legendary tour and to Robert [Allen] for making you stop through Kansas City, Missouri, that night, too. In KC was the beginning of me meeting the love of my life.”
Continuing to read the rest of the letter in her mind, Taylor reacts towards the end, “Aww my God! So much for no emotions on the last three shows”, she expresses to her mom.
The letter reveal comes days after Taylor called Kelce the love of her life during her appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on December 10, as she talked about her engagement and other milestones that happened in her life in 2025.
She told host Stephen Colbert, “Getting engaged to the love of my life, getting all my music back. Those were two things that just might never have happened. They could have just never happened. It wasn’t like, ‘Oh, it’s just a matter of time.'”
“Both of those things could have just never arrived in my life, and I’m so grateful for both of those things happening,” she continued.

Their fateful love story stemmed from Kelce’s failure to meet the 14-time Grammy winner while attending the Eras Tour in July 2023, which happened at the Kansas City Chiefs’ Arrowhead Stadium in Missouri. In an episode of his and his brother Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast, the NFL star admitted how he felt “a little butthurt” when he was not able to meet Swift and also shared that he had made a personalized friendship bracelet for Taylor with his number on it.
“The most meaningful relationship I’ve ever had started with a man saying that he was butthurt that I didn’t want to meet him…Greatest surprise of my life”, Taylor expressed her thoughts of the moment, in a preview for her Eras Tour docuseries.
Following fate’s intervention in not letting them meet for the first time, a matchmaker ensured that they were together for the rest of their lives. It was Andrea, Taylor’s 67-year-old mother.
In episode four of the docuseries, Andrea recalls, “I’m looking at the headlines and perusing around on the Internet, and I see that this guy came to your show and he brought a friendship bracelet and wants to meet you. So I call up my resident expert on the Kansas City Chiefs, my cousin Robin, and I go, ‘Tell me about this guy named Travis Kelce.'”
She remarked with a laugh, “She goes, ‘Oh my God, he is the nicest guy! And he really loves his mom.’ And I went, ‘Ding, ding, ding, ding.’ And then I said, ‘Now, how in the world am I going to get her to meet him?'”
Although Taylor admitted that she was “very non-athlete” before meeting Travis, she recalled her mom calling her “with this tone of, ‘Hey, I know you’re not gonna react well to this, but there’s a guy…'”
Swift added, “You said something to the effect of, ‘You gotta start doing something different.’
The reason why Kelce was mom-approved before Taylor said yes was because Andrea found his gesture of making her daughter a friendship bracelet “so earnest” and “the sweetest thing” as he had tried to get her attention with something from “your world.”
