Let’s be honest here. This year, all the shows on fall TV lists look very dry and lifeless. The shows that were scheduled to air this fall haven’t even begun production, considering how the writers’ and actors’ strikes are still in effect. The broadcasters had to reschedule and make a lot of changes to their plans, resulting in the delay of the series that made up the autumn list. It goes without saying that there are a few shows that will definitely return, but not until early 2024 or mid-2024.

Young Sheldon
Young Sheldon, one of the best sitcoms on CBS, not being on the list of 2024 series sounds way too surreal for fans. A lot of people are speculating that the upcoming season might be the last one for the said series. Fans are even speculating that maybe the truncated season is starting to make us feel a little robbed, especially in light of reports that the following season may be the last.
NCIS
You know what’s surprising? CBS is not reviving NCIS for another season this autumn. Surprising indeed. NCIS has been a mainstay on the network since its inception in 2003, so it will be unusual not to have a new season in the autumn. However, we will at least get NCIS reruns to help us pass the time until season 21 debuts in 2024.
Fire Country
It’s a shame that Fire Country season 2 will have to wait until 2024 to see what happens next after being the most-watched new series last autumn. Not only was the first season of the program a ratings success, but it also had one of the season’s most stunning cliffhangers, with Bode returning to prison. So it feels immoral that we now have to wait even longer to find out what happens next!
Ghosts
Most of the shows tend to avoid cliffhangers at the end of their seasons. But Ghosts, on the other hand, has always been open to taking big risks and teasing its audience with a terrific cliffhanger. The previous season (season 2) has left us wondering who was sucked off, and fans were eagerly waiting to quench their questions this autumn, but to their dismay, Ghosts isn’t coming back this year. We’ll have to be patient for one of CBS’ best shows to come back next year. We’ll definitely miss seeing the ghosts of Sam and Jay while waiting for the to come back.
FBI International
Our Tuesday nights will now be glum, for we won’t be swaddled with new episodes of FBI International. The writers’ strike played a huge role in messing up the schedules of many shows. This should be why fans will have to nurture some patience for new episodes to air in 2024. While FBI and FBI: Most Wanted did not finish on a significant cliffhanger, FBI: International did with an explosive ending that placed the lives of practically every member of the squad in jeopardy. We’re excited to see who survives the season-ending bombing, but we’ll surely miss the show come fall.
S.W.A.T.
The S.W.A.T. fandom has been through a rollercoaster ride, and it seems like they aren’t complaining. Many called dibs on the show’s renewal dates. Unfortunately, the show had been canceled abruptly. But to soothe this situation, fans were vocal in their discontent with the decision, and CBS opted to order a 13-episode final season to give the program a dignified send-off. While another season is on the way, the bad news is that the last season will not be available until 2024.
Blue Bloods
We’re all aware of the fact that it’s difficult to envision having to wait until the beginning of 2024 without the Reagan family gracing our screens every Friday. We’re very glad that there are reruns available throughout the fall, blessing us with the opportunity to spend some more time with Blue Bloods, but it will be difficult to get through the season without Friday night’s popular drama.
