The Blacklist Season 11: Is it renewed or canceled?
As of writing this, we can officially confirm to the fans that the show will not have an 11th season of The Blacklist as the entire plotline of the show has been completed within the last ten seasons, which has received generally positive reviews from critics and loyal viewers across the world.
In addition to this, we can confirm to the readers that the tenth season which is the final season of the show, will now conclude its run on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at the same time slot of 8/7c on NBC, and will later stream on Peacock. This makes it clear that the crime drama series created by Jon Bokenkamp will not return for a good reason, as the show creators have always aimed to conclude the story in a perfect way!
We speculate that the main reason for the show not returning for a tenth and final season is simple: The overall story has come to an end, which makes it abundantly clear that the show will not return for another season. So, we suggest that the viewers should binge-watch the entire franchise to reminisce about the plot that makes the show worth watching.
The good thing is that it didn’t end prematurely by getting canceled, which is extremely great as the show got the full chance to complete the overall plot and character arcs, and we think that it ended at the right time without dragging it out any further. As this gripping crime drama continues to push boundaries, leaving fans on the edge of their seats, it has reached the best-concluding arc that the fans could have asked for.
We are aware that the fans will sincerely miss this series because both audiences and reviewers all around the world gave it generally positive reviews. The series has been acclaimed for shattering viewerships, and each season has received positive reviews, with many critics praising Spader’s performance in particular.
It was a great show filled with twists and turns, drama, and emotional moments, which the fans have absolutely loved over the last ten years! So, if you ever miss these characters, then we suggest that you binge-watch the entire franchise right on NBC and Peacock in order to reminisce about the plotlines and character arcs that make this show worth watching!
The Blacklist: Why is it ending after Season 10?
“After 10 years, hundreds of Blacklist cases, and more than 200 episodes produced, we’re honored to reach our conclusion,” said showrunner and executive producer John Eisendrath in a statement.
“It’s been incredibly fun to create the strange, devious, and delightful Blacklisters to challenge Raymond Reddington and our FBI Task Force each week. We would like to thank everyone at NBC and Sony, our extraordinary crew who make the impossible happen every day, our endlessly inventive writers and producers, and our remarkable cast who brought life to these characters. We appreciate our dedicated fanbase who came along for this wonderful ride and are excited to share this final season with them.”
Lisa Katz, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming’s president of scripted content, said in a statement:
“It isn’t often that a series resonates so deeply with an audience that it airs for 10 seasons, but The Blacklist proved to be a perfect combination of highly talented producers, stellar writing, a cast that never failed to deliver, and a crew that always rose to the occasion. A huge thank you to our partners at Sony, everyone from the past decade who made this show an integral part of NBC’s storied history, and, of course, a special nod to James Spader, whose performance remains nothing short of spectacular.”
In an interview with NBC, Spader revealed exactly why he believed the show had to end with Season 10.
“I think if the show went beyond this year, it would turn into a very different show,” Spader said. “And I think that the thing that has been nice about this show was that we’ve never really had a really clear paradigm for the show,” Spader continued. “Tonally the show shifts a lot from episode to episode, and I think that even the show has taken strange turns, and I suspect that the show, if it went much further, would just become something that would be less recognizable to me.”
