The Boys spin-off series ‘Gen V’ is all set to feature an exciting cameo of Jensen Ackles returning to his role as Solider Boy. An exclusive sneak peek of the upcoming series shows the Supernatural alum in the iconic green superhero suit while proudly making the ‘V’ symbol for Gen V. This glimpse was unveiled by Entertainment Weekly on Instagram on Saturday, September 23.

In the image, Ackles can be seen wearing his signature superhero suit while holding a shield. Fans will remember Ackles’ character from The Boys season 3, where he was left in a cryogenic state following his climactic battle with Homelander.

Plot and Cast of Gen V

The Boys’ spin-off show ‘Gen V’ takes the viewers inside the world of Godolkin University, which is run by Vought International. The series focuses on a bunch of fresh and competitive superpowered individuals who will face off in battle royal challenges in order to win the best contracts in the city. The show will debut the three of the eight-episode season 1 on September 3 on Amazon Prime Video.

The cast members of the spin-off show include Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, and Patrick Schwarzenegger.

Details on Jensen Ackles’ cameo

While it is certain that Ackles’ Soldier Boy has been renewed for the spin-off series, there is still considerable uncertainty about the character’s role within the storyline. It would be interesting to see how the character places itself with other young superpowered beings. At the moment, the makers have kept the details of Jensen Ackles’ cameo away from the public. On the other hand, the official Twitter account of Gen V has hinted at Soldier Boy’s appearance, sparking speculation among fans that it may happen in episode 2.

Will Soldier Boy return in The Boys season 4?

Soldier Boy is expected to make a comeback in The Boys season 4. Back in July 2022, showrunner Eric Kripke assured fans that he is “100 per cent” open to the character returning to the screen in the future. “The old TV adage is like, never kill anyone unless you really, really have to. Never close a door, open a window,” Kripke told EW. “We’ll all have to wait and see, but I can’t imagine the series ending without Soldier Boy making another appearance.”
