Is there any hope for a second season? Here is everything we know so far about The Glory Season 2.
As the remaining eight episodes of the first season, titled “The Glory Part 2,” premiered today on Netflix, the fans were quick to start binge-watching the entire season once and for all, which has made them wonder if there is a possibility left for the series to continue the plot further after the jaw-dropping finale.
The episode showed that as the final pieces of Dong-eun’s revenge plot slot into place, she considers what comes next – and what it will mean for Yeo-jeong. Of course, we haven’t mentioned all the details to avoid giving anything away spoilers if you haven’t watched the season yet. In this case, we strongly encourage you to check out this series if you want to discover more great Korean dramas.
To be fair, we still don’t know if the show creators intended this series to be developed as a standalone or as a multiple-season franchise which seems quite far-fetched considering that the series has a limited theme that followed a former victim of school violence seeks revenge on her bullies after taking up a job as a homeroom teacher at the elementary school of the bully’s child.
The conclusion kind of tied everything up, but the idea can be developed further if the new season focuses on the fallout from these incidents and shows how Moon Dong-eun deals with and continues to live her life after what she has to endure throughout the season. This can be exciting to see how character arcs are elaborated or if she faces the demons of her past once again.
Only time will tell whether the show’s producers will give it another season or decide to end the series after one season. On the other hand, the exact launch date has yet to be determined as it awaits renewal confirmation. But, it has been speculated that the release window might be around 2024 or maybe later if the second season is greenlit in the coming weeks.
This will lead to the likely time frame being December 2024, at the same time slot of 12:00 a.m. (PT) or 3:00 a.m. (ET), divided into two parts, just like the first season. Of course, this is just guesswork! Hence, we suggest that the viewers be patient and follow all the social media platforms for the series to be updated with the latest information.
The Glory Season 1: A Quick Recap
The official synopsis states, “Dong-eun is a meek and reserved teenager who lives in poverty with her mother and has no friends. At school, she’s relentlessly bullied – both physically and mentally – by a group of privileged kids whose wealth and connections enable them to never see the consequences of their actions. Even her mother would rather accept bribery than hold anyone at her school accountable. Though Dong-eun eventually escapes the brutal abuse, she still lives with the scars – and vows to make each of her bullies pay for what they did.”
The series takes place over the course of Dong-eun’s life, from 2004 to the present day, and is set in South Korea, both in Seoul and in a nearby town called Semyeong.
