Attention Bachelors! The newest addition to the American dating reality series scenario,The Golden Bachelor” on ABC with its first season, is all set to rule the television for the long run!

It looks like ABC’s official decision to commission the first season of The Golden Bachelor has finally paid off as the reality series, which is one of a kind from the get-go as it is an edition of The Bachelor starring senior citizens, has fiercely taken the franchise by storm and brought more attention to it by captivating audiences like never before and setting a new benchmark for television viewership. As word spread like wildfire about this long-awaited installment, which stars 72-year-old Gerry Turner, a retired restauranter and widower from Hudson, Indiana,

Viewers who have loved the other installments from all walks of life flocked to their television screens when the first episode officially premiered last month on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 8/7c on ABC. It resulted in a staggering 7-day viewing figure that surpassed anything that has been witnessed before on the broadcast network! For context, it is quite amazing to know that the first episode of The Golden Bachelor drew more than 11 million people across linear and streaming platforms in its first week. This accounts for both its initial broadcast on September 28, 2023, and its repeat on October 3, 2023.

Moreover, the September 28, 2023 broadcast alone soared to 9M viewers after seven days of delayed viewing, according to the ABC network. That’s a spectacular addition of 4.64M people who tuned in through delayed cross-platform viewing, making it the strongest multiplatform telecast for any series within The Bachelor franchise in more than two years — since February 2021, when Matt James led the titular series. In the 18-49 entertainment demo, the episode has grown to a 2.46 rating, which is quadruple its initial live+same-day rating.

Just like its parent series, from the moment the first episode aired, it became clear that this installment would be a game-changer in the world of television, and we are certain that this is just the beginning, as this show is already making this the best seven-day multiplatform rating for the franchise in two years since a September 2021 episode of Bachelor in Paradise!

That’s not it! The growth of The Golden Bachelor is already expanding as it recently received the first impression from viewers after three days of viewing. It also rose in rank as the highest-rated premiere on Hulu for any series in The Bachelor franchise and the network’s No. 1 series premiere ever on the streaming platform in Live+3 with 1.76 million views. For ABC, the premiere is now the highest-rated debut for an unscripted series on any network since January 2022 among Adults 18-49 (0.81 rating), since the January 2022 debut of Fox’s Next Level Chef, which had an NFL lead-in.
