Yes, it’s true! One of the most gripping medical dramas on television will be back with its seventh season. Continue reading to find out more.
After the premiere of the finale episode, “Love’s Labor,” of The Good Doctor Season 6 a few hours ago, the fans were left amazed and in awe of how the season was concluded. After all, how can they not be excited to see what’s next for Dr. Shaun Murphy? It’s fair to say that the fans have started to wonder whether the much-loved show will return this year for its already renewed seventh season or not, which ABC ordered back in April 2023. If you are wondering the same thing, then you have come to the right place!
As we have complied all the crucial details about whether the fans can expect the series to make its return sometime later this year or not.
The Good Doctor Season 7 Expected Release Date and Time Slot
Firstly, we would like to bring the fans back to reality! Even though the sixth season has ended, that doesn’t mean that the new one will start to premiere in a few weeks. If you have been keeping up with the show, then you’ll know that it has a history of taking a break for a few months before premiering brand-new episodes. So, we are certain that the same will be applied to the seventh season.
The filming is expected to commence sometime around August 2023 in order to be ahead of schedule and release the show sometime later in the fall of 2023 at the same time slot of 10 pm/9c, every Monday on the ABC network. This can only happen if the production starts on schedule in the next few months and the network decides to roll out the series just like the prior season without unnecessary delays. In addition to this, we would like to point out that, at this point in time, this is just pure speculation!
Anything can be changed, and these details will be confirmed by the network. So, we urge the readers to be up-to-date with the official social media handles of the show. Until then, check out the official renewal announcement as shared on The Good Doctor’s Twitter handle, quoting, “Get your scrubs ready, as #TheGoodDoctor is coming back for a new season.” Take a look at the official post below:

The Good Doctor Season 7: What to expect in the new season?
The seventh season will undoubtedly pick up from the final episode of Season 6, “Love’s Labor,” in which the viewers got to see that when Danny, Jared, and Jerome are driving a patient to the hospital, they get into a multi-vehicle accident that seriously hurts Danny. Danny resists painkillers because of his addiction, but Jordan is compelled to do so when Danny’s pain puts his life in danger. Danny resolves to relocate back to Texas to recover with his family’s assistance and support in order to prevent relapsing.
Even though he ultimately forgave Jordan. Nevertheless, he first goes on a makeshift date with Jordan. Asher enlists Shaun’s assistance with a family and is horrified when, despite their best efforts, the father passes away suddenly from an aortic dissection. Glassman is asked to assist Lim in treating a patient who has had an internal decapitation, and she counsels him to make up with Shaun. Morgan decides to retire since she is having trouble juggling motherhood and her job.
However, Park rejoins Morgan to raise Eden as a family after being reminded by his patient of what’s most important. Andrews decides to retire after being forced by the board to choose between his career and his connection with Villanueva. Glassman sends Shaun a gift of an embroidered blanket for the infant Steven Aaron Murphy, even though he is unable to be present when Lea gives birth to the child. The next season will continue with more drama in a way that this medical series has been able to do for years.
The Good Doctor Season 7 Cast and Crew
The main cast members who are expected to return in the next season are as follows: Freddie Highmore as Shaun Murphy, Fiona Gubelmann as Morgan Reznick, Will Yun Lee as Alex Park, Christina Chang as Audrey Lim, Paige Spara as Lea Dilallo, Bria Samoné Henderson as Jordan Allen, Noah Galvin as Asher Wolke, Richard Schiff as Aaron Glassman, and Hill Harper as Marcus Andrews. Savannah Welch, who plays Dr. Danica “Danni” Powell as one of the new residents in season 6, is also expected to return.
Right now, it’s safe to say that all the recurring cast members are anticipated to join the principal cast in the new season. “The Good Doctor,” is executive produced and co-show run by David Shore and Liz Friedman. Additional executive producers include Daniel Dae Kim, Erin Gunn, Thomas L. Moran, David Hoselton, Peter Blake, Jessica Grasl, Garrett Lerner, Mike Listo, Highmore, Shawn Williamson, David Kim, and Sebastian Lee. The Good Doctor Season 7 Episodes and Streaming Options
We would like to highlight that, as of writing this, we can assure the readers that the official episode count of the new season hasn’t been revealed by the network. But if we follow the pattern followed by the last few seasons, then the show is very likely to consist of at least 18 to 22 episodes with an average runtime of 41–44 minutes, which are expected to drop on a weekly basis. This count can be changed in case the creators want to conclude the series with the seventh season, which will be confirmed later.
All episodes of The Good Doctor Season 6 are currently available to watch on FuboTV and Hulu Plus, among other digital streaming services. Moreover, the series is also available to rent or buy on iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, Google Play, and Vudu, with a vast number of membership plans according to the preferences of the users. Moreover, the series is also available to watch exclusively on ABC’s official website, where the episodes are published after they air on the channel at the 10/9c time slot.
