The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6: Are there any latest updates in July 2023?

As of writing this, one thing is pretty much clear the majority of the information relating to the sixth and final season has been kept under wraps, which isn’t surprising as we are certain that the network doesn’t want early spoilers to leak all over social media, eventually tampering with the interest of the audience. The other reason for such a delayed acknowledgment is the fact that the ongoing writer’s strike has had a huge impact on the overall work in the entertainment industry.

Due to the strike, the majority of production houses have started to put their work on hold, as the writers are refusing to resume their work until a proper decision has been made regarding their compensation. After all, the writers are the backbone of the industry and are crucial players in creating some of the best work that viewers have seen in recent years, and their needs should be fulfilled!

This isn’t the only hurdle the industry will be facing in the coming weeks. According to recent reports, a possible actor’s strike is also heading the network’s way. As tense negotiations between the Hollywood actors’ union and the major studios, the Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) are still underway. The contract is now confirmed to expire on July 12 at 11:59 p.m. PDT.

So, if any possible agreement isn’t made before the deadline, the chance of both writers and actors being held together will increase the chances of production being delayed for more weeks. Due to this, we are certain that the show creators will try their best not to release any new updates in the month of July 2023, as it will be premature to put an official stamp on such details, which should be confirmed once the situation reaches a proper resolution.

At last, we know that it’s been months since the renewal was announced, so we can predict that the only possible update that can be disclosed soon will be a revised schedule with new release dates confirming the delay in the series premiere in case filming doesn’t begin this summer season. Until then, we have listed down all the details that have so far been made public, as it provides a fairly good insight into what the fans can expect from the sixth season until there is an official statement issued.

The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6: When is it expected to premiere?

As mentioned above, we are saddened to inform our readers that the exact release date for the final season has not been confirmed by the network due to the ongoing writer’s strike, as it has caused a major halt in production which was reported to begin in the summer of 2023, with August being the likely time frame. Now, the production of the remaining episodes can begin once the strike comes to a resolution, as both actors and writers are the backbone of the entertainment industry and play a major role in creating interesting stories and characters.

Hence, if we consider all these factors, then there is a chance that everything pertaining to the release date of The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6 is rather speculative. As production comes to a halt, we believe that the network might be planning an early to mid-2024 release on Hulu with the same time slot of midnight ET and 3 a.m. PT. As there is a similar year gap between seasons, it will be easy to shift the release date and avoid any further hurdles in filming! Of course, this is just conjecture, and fans should wait for the network to confirm all these developments.

In the meantime, if you want to receive updates on when the show premieres, interested viewers can also enable notifications on the show’s official social media handles.
