Over the course of time, the culture of mass consumption observed significant changes, especially in the entertainment industry with the movies being made more dazzling and glittering on public demand. But every genre, no matter how much time has passed, has been successful in creating its own niche in the quickening evolutionary pace of entertainment and amassed a dedicated audience. One of these genres, is noir thrillers, the dark, sleazy cinematic movies that highlight the character’s fatalist and cynical attitudes, leading him to commit a crime. With neo-noir thrillers trending in the contemporary era, directors are even more interested in creating movies that depict the psyche of the characters without any filter; quite naturalistic, I must say.

One of the most dedicated directors who has managed to adhere to this neo-noir genre, is the Golden Globes winner and Oscar nominee, David Fincher. Fincher is primarily known for his smash hits such as Gone Girl, Mank, The Social Network, Zodiac, Se7en, and more.

Reuniting with Se7en writer Andrew Kevin Walker for the upcoming Netflix noir thriller The Killer, Fincher has already piqued the interest of his fans which will only come to fruition once the movie is released.

Here’s the full scoop on this Netflix thriller.

Based upon the titular French graphic novel by Alexis Nolent, under the pseudonym Matz, and artist Luc Jacamon, Netflix’s The Killer is anticipated to be another Fincher’s smash hit owing to its storyline. Two volumes of the graphic novel were released: one in 1998 and the latest in 2017. Currently, it’s nebulous as to which volume will the Netflix thriller follow. Be that as it may, here is the official logline for the same:

“A man solitary and cold, methodical and unencumbered by scruples or regrets, the killer waits in the shadows, watching for his next target. And yet the longer he waits, the more he thinks he’s losing his mind, if not his cool. A brutal, bloody, and stylish noir story of a professional assassin lost in a world without a moral compass, this is a case study of a man alone, armed to the teeth and slowly losing his mind.”
